I will be attending this carnaval again next month, its a really good time and I was there back in 2012 and recommend it. I will be travelling there with a couple of buddies from Canada who like to party hard so good times will be had for sure and if any of you want to join us then let me know. I'm considering going, but looking at some of these hotel prices is making me reconsider. Most hotels cost 4-6 times as much as normal. For instance, the Hampton is $66 per night, two weeks before Carnaval and during it is $206. The Diamond is $88 per before, then $534 per during. Howard Johnson $52 before and is $298 during.

Do you have to stay far from the action to get a decent price on a hotel?
