I loved Mariah's scratchy voice. I remember the first time I heard her, she had never done a concert ever, singing for the first time on TV on Arsenio Hall.

It was playing in the background and I stopped what I was doing to go over and watch. My parents remember where they were when Kennedy was assasinated. I remember where I was when I first heard Mariah sing "Vision of Love."

The huge sound coming out of that tiny little thing. So young. You knew she was going to be a star after ten seconds. She was a bit shy and insecure too. Looked uncomfortable onstage. Didn't know what to do with her hands or eyes. You wanted to hug her and say it would be all right.

This album kind of flew under the radar except for his biggest hit (I wish) but it was a pretty solid feel good album and better then most trash kids mumble on these days

Actually just seeing the photo above kicked me right in the feels... I was 15 riding around with my older friends who had a car just enjoying life without a care in the world
