I've recently taken up the hobby of bird watching and was wondering if anyone on here could recommend a decent pair of binoculars to purchase for this activity. I don't know much about binoculars and I want to keep it on the cheaper side, but also realise that it may be worth it to spend a few extra dollars to have better quality. I'd say that my maximum budget would be $200 USD, if any of you have specific recommendations, they would be greatly appreciated.
For any of you wondering why I picked up bird watching, I first did it a couple of years ago as an organized trip on the Caribbean coast of Colombia and it was a blast, we chased birds all over the place for an entire day and probably covered about 5K of fairly dense jungle . Colombia has over 1500 different bird species, one of the most diverse in in the world, last week I was at a coffee farm near Pereira and was amazed once again by the number of birds and also butterflies buzzing around, a great way to chill after partying so hard at the feria de Cali.
