I actually just looked into this, apparently this is the second time he's married and divorced this one chick. He payed her $4.2 million in alimony in 2012. I don't get how he keeps getting off so easy, but good for him.

His first wife was pretty hot too. I doubt he has game though, probably relies on girls approaching him, which would explain why he ended up with this broad twice.

He probably gets off easy because he is financially savvy and was wealthy before he met the woman.
A large portion of his wealth is probably kept in trusts, and therefore difficult to impossible to get at via the legal system.
It's not like he has a bank account in his own name, with billions in it.
So, his wife probably had the choice - take this reasonable amount and get paid now...or engage in a years long legal battle and maybe get more, maybe get the same, maybe get nothing.
This only works if she respects you and knows what you are capable of.
My guess is that Musk is more than willing to go to the mattresses and battle it out over any perceived slight.

Or they had a prenuptial agreement stating the amounts received based on a number of factors - time of relationship, yearly income, net worth etc. I think this is the most likely scenario as I doubt his wealth increased by less than 1% since the marriage.
