Frame control pop quiz

I agree that it has importance, but I think that if you put too much time into learning frame control, you'll always be worrying if you had the stronger frame or not, and always trying to put on a stronger frame on other people can come off domineering instead of dominant.

All you really need to have is a lot of self worth, confidence, don't give a fuck attitude. And don't let people talk down to you/talk smack behind your back.

A king doesn't have to worry about frame control and being witty because he already knows he is great.

"I think that if you put too much time into learning frame control, you'll always be worrying if you had the stronger frame or not, "

other people have said that, including krauser. i disagree completely. i think that is just an excuse to be lazy.

once you truly master a skill, it becomes second nature, and you don't even have to think about it.

i got this little concept from someone else on another forum. i wish i remember who, so i could credit him.

unconscious incompetence -> conscious incompetence -> conscious competence -> unconscious competence

plus, that argument doesn't hold water here, or on my blog, considering the answers that i have gotten -- with zero explanations or theory behind them. well no, not zero, but very few people have really explained their answers or their logic.

frame control is clearly a lost art around here.

i want to change that.

Frame control pop quiz

the correct answer:

drunk guy vs. rivelino
http://alpharivelino.wordpress.com/2011/...ct-answer/

EVIL DRUNK GUY VS DASHING RIVELINO
THE FINAL CHAPTER

so the drunk guy, sensing weakness — sensing an opening to amog the guy with the only cute girl left at the venue — loudly asks,

hey man, how much did you tip??

rivelino, our sensitive yet sometimes assholish hero, slowly turns around to look at his new dastardly enemy, and, in order to buy himself some time to gain his footing, cleverly implements EFC rule #6, and — with a slight trace of irony and amusement thrown in to cover up his unexpected surprise — repeats the question that was posed to him,

how much did i tip?

the drunk villain, who is already concerned that he has not gotten a rise out of our dashing peruvian japanese hero, blandly says,

yeah

our dashing hero, with an even slower delivery, and exuding a calm, relaxed, even slightly empathetic energy that radiates like warm sunlight across the entire room — or is he being slightly patronizing? it is impossible to tell — effortlessly implements EFC rule #4 of questioning the question with a faux “i feel really sorry for you, you cancer victim” vibe, and says

how much did you want me to tip?

the drunken villain, already confused that his mortal enemy has kept his calm and not gotten angry or ashamed, is all of a sudden EVEN MORE confused because his enemy has replied with a certain strange, calm kindness, as if his enemy wanted to KNOW why the villain was drunk, why the villain was so unhappy, why the villain was lashing out at strangers, why the villain was being so angry at the world instead of enjoying all the beautiful things that life had to offer — so with all these feelings running through his brain, the villain — who now felt distinctly naked and embarrassed, his aggression exposed for what it really was — a fundamental hatred of himself — could only meekly reply,

i don’t know, i just wanted to know how much i should give…

our hero, awash in victory, feeling the glory of love and the infinite power of the universe, kindly replies to our now dejected and demoralized villain,

give however much is in your heart

and smiles.

THE END

ew. Riv. no. I know you love your frame control shit, but that seems pretty gay. You would have done a lot better if you just ignored him.

"how much did you want me to tip?" - playing into his frame by looking for his advice. even if said sarcastically.

"i don’t know, i just wanted to know how much i should give…" - he wouldn't say that.

And are you trying to write some sort of novel??

Brevity wins almost every time.

So lame. The drunk guy would never say that.

You really need to work on your frame control Rivelino.

The small bit of dialogue itself seems pretty trivial and not too realistic.

However, I thought it was funny the way so much was read INTO the lines of the "dashing hero" and the "drunken villian"!! That part of it is kinda cute.

This is pretty pathetic. You're spouting off about frame control but you've devoted various blog and forum posts to a comment from one drunk guy. And you went dramatic and weird and tried to make it sound like an epic tale of good vanquishing evil.

If I gave serious thought to every person who says shit or makes little comments, I'd be in a state of inertia. Haters comes with the territory when you're trying to be on top, deal with it. Chumps will hate that you're dressed better than them, they'll hate that you have style and swag, they'll hate your confidence, they'll hate that you have a girl on each arm, they'll hate that you're the center of attention, etc.

Instead of fixating on this little bullshit (as you have), enjoy your life and enjoy being you. I don't know too much about this 'frame control' shit, but I do know about this one thing called "I'm the fucking man". Work on the latter.

Hilarious. Also, if you're going to insist on telling these episodes of you in the 3rd person have better stories and get a thesaurus. You use the same words over and over.

Frame control pop quiz

I'm not a big fan of cliff-hanger, "tune-in-next-time" entries, but I tuned back into this one to see what all the hype was about. After all, as a guy who's often the soberest dude in the room, I've developed some pretty decent skills at dealing with sloppy, idiotic drunks.

I disagree with even acknowledging a lame remark from a loud drunk. I think the most alpha thing you can do is what I see celebrities do to crazy, in-your-face annoying fans all the time: give them a half-assed, head-nodding acknowledgment, fake grin, and half hand-wave gesture--like you didn't even fully process what they said to you--and then move back to your entourage, where you proceed to pick up exactly where you left off with them a minute ago. Celebrities and public figures assume anyone trying to get their attention is admiring them or wanting something from them. They act important and busy, not petty. That should be your goal as a top-shelf alpha.

But if you insist on saying something, the alpha says something funny or ridiculing that gets him laughs and wins him even more points with the crowd. In this case when he said, "how much did you tip?" I might have pretended to mishear him and said, "what?! you want just the tip?"

I can't tell you how many times a drunk, or just a general dumb-ass, has thrown me a gift like this. I make them pay for their insolence. If they get surly, I say, "dude, I was just fucking with you," alpha-touch them (shoulder or bicep), and keep the party going. There's no way a guy is knocking me off my throne unless he's an NBA basketball star or Bon Jovi (or is willing to gamble that I can't fight). I have too many weapons in my quiver to be thrown by a silly remark.

OPTION #2: The Dick Move

Drunk Idiot: "Hey, how much did you tip?"

Tuthmosis: "Oh, here you go, buddy." [peel off a dollar from my wad and pretend to "tip" him too]

Scenario A: He reaches to grab it.

Tuthmosis: "Psyche." [snatch it away as he reaches]

OR

Scenario B: Refuses to grab it and shuts the fuck up.

OR

Scenario C: Gets belligerent

Drunk Idiot: "Fuck you, dog!"

Tuthmosis: [Laugh] "I'm just fucking with you." [offer the money again]

Repeat Scenario A.

what is fascinating -- and i should write this on my blog -- is how the vibe on this forum is so different from the vibe on my blog.

since my blog is my blog, the vibe is the one i created.

here the vibe is a lot more skeptical, even antagonistic. people don't know me here. that is cool.

in fact, i like the skepticism. the criticism i receive here, and the insight i get from the skepticism, is very useful.

People follow your blog because they appreciate your viewpoint. And will tend to agree with you on matters such as this. They also may not have as much experience with women as the members on this forum.

i gotta say, there is so much more wisdom on my blog that on that entire “forum – girl” section. most of it is from yohami, but still. it only reinforces my theory that the roosh approach to game is not the best one.
Seriously? You would even try to pull that one off? You can't even begin to fathom the amount of dudes Roosh has saved with his blog and this forum.

The 10s of people on your blog are probably geeks (no offense) like you (again no offense but I read your bio) who are just discovering game and you are the alpha of that group. Around here we (I feel comfortable speaking for the forum in this regard) have pretty high standards about checking each other as well as some interloper that hasn't established any credibility yet. Most of these posters here are intermediate (and above) in practice or at least concept. You've posted here before and it's come off as arrogant and dismissive of other's viewpoints. IMO everyone that took your little "quiz" was on point with their one sentence (or none at all) reply because they were focused on getting back to the girl and closing the deal. You were caught up in a conversation with a drunk that I speculate was either fictional or a lesser beta.

I do like the idea of breaking a situation down to "frames" and working off of that but, at this point, I don't think there is much you can teach anyone else that is just learning about this concept.

The good news is that you are being creative and trying new things. You're being very introspective and working on getting better and for that I have respect for you.

you know what -- you're right. i know that my discovery of game followed this trajectory:

1. style and mystery

2. roissy

3. roosh

then all the rest.

and i agree that roosh was extremely helpful in motivating me to learn game.

so maybe i should just keep my mouth shut about that and not compare different schools of game.

in the end, who cares.

i guess.
