How does the location independent get a US Travel Visa
11-27-2014, 02:24 PM
Hey gents, although being location independent has it pros, one of the few cons includes the problems in getting a US travel visa. An issue that may come up is not having a reason to return back to your home country after your 90 days are up.
Any ideas around this issue?

I actually worked in a consular section of a US embassy for a few weeks and yes the concern of not having a reason to return is a big reason people get denied. Especially if you're a single male who may just be looking to work.
Having a business, job, property, or family in your native country is your best bet. Do you have any of those? Also perhaps showing past travel experiences will show that you're an intrepid man and just want to see the world.
Also where are you from and where are you going?

It depends where you are from, how much you make, and whether you are convince the consular officer you will return back either to where you are living or where you are from.
Remember, when you apply for a U.S. visa you are guilty until proven innocent. You are assumed to be an intending immigrant.
If you are a location dependent gent with lots of passive income (which you can show with a bank account), have tons of stamps on your passport from various countries (particularly Western countries), you shouldn't have a problem.
Feel free to PM me as well if you need some more specific advice.
