I thought this would merit its own topic. There have not been racially-charged riots of such magnitude in America since the LA riots in 1992.
I know there's several mixed feelings on this, ranging from Wilson was completely justified, to Wilson is a klansman in uniform.
Let's disregard all of that. Strictly looking at the media spin, there's something of interest that's not being noticed by anyone.
The mainstream media has largely not been against Wilson. If anything, they've presented an "unintended impartiality" (even from Nancy Grace) that you NEVER see with any other high-profile defendant, for basically anything.
Yes, you do get some expected black activists like Jackson/Sharpton types or those affiliated with the Brown family who speak out on CNN/MSNBC/Foxnews programs, but they are not the mainstream media. Most of these shows always have some sort of "crossfire" debate to begin with a former or current defense lawyer arguing with a former or current prosecutor, and the host acting like a mediator of sorts.
The ones who run the shows have not displayed any of the usual anger they would towards a civilian defendant.
They spent over a year trying to convince America that a fat half-hispanic cholo obviously indigenous looking George Zimmerman was white, all in hopes of inciting a race war. They didn't get it.
Now, the race war has arrived when they weren't even trying to incite the level of emotion in the public.
Truth is stranger than fiction.
