If it's truly a fungal problem, it may be systemic and therefore it may take more than just anti-fungal cream to treat your problem. It may stem from an overgrowth of yeast or 'candida' that may have gotten out of control from either a poor diet or past antibiotic use.

I used to suffer from something similar and it can make life really shitty when you don't know what is causing the issue..or how to control it.

My suggestion would be cutting out all alcohol, bread (and other simple carbs), most sugar sources (like candy, processed foods, soda etc.) for a few weeks and see if anything changes. Coconut oil is also an anti fungal so you can eat a few tablespoons a day and see if any of your symptoms get better.

Women suffer from chronic yeast infections all the time often due to the Standard American diet. Men unknowingly can suffer from this too. It wouldn't hurt to try an anti-candida diet for a little while and to mention this to your doctor. Hope things get better soon.
