Filtering through the crap that makes up most of the internet

Do you guys think that the usefulness of the internet as an information resource is slowly dropping every year?

Nowadays whenever I search for information on something via google, about 95% of what comes up is absolutely useless crap.

It's like everything is being written by authors who:
- Either know zero about the topic, or are rehashing the same crap someone else wrote (who also knew zero), or are making things up off the top of their heads;
- Do not care/see relevant the fact they know nothing, feel free to vomit their unknowledgableness into their keyboards, and then defend that vomit like they are experts (esp. answer sites).

A great example is to search for advice on giving girls good sex. Pages of google searches yield bulk generic useless nonsense by people who know zero on the topic, and hapily spread that zero over 20 'sideshow' pages. A single post here on rooshvforum, however, yielded everything I wanted to know.

I don't know whether this is because I've been searching for ever more specific information, or because the internet is slowly becoming useless.

Does anyone have advice on filtering the shit out of the internet? Is there a way to add 'crap filters' to google?.

I fully agree. I've become adept at filtering though the results just by scanning- it pains me when I have someone next to me who says 'what about that one'? when I know it's a 'sideshow' site full of no useful information whatsoever.

Clickbait Titles With Every Word Capitalized are another giveaway, which is why I see red when people use similar post titles on RVF.

Forums are fast becoming my chosen source of information. Trusted forums such as this one and a few others relating to my business. A good tip if you think the answer to a problem is best found in a certain forum is to use a site specific seaerch- google the phrase (for example) 'site:rooshvforum.network giving girls great sex'

Perhaps there is a market for a search engine blacklist of the 'sideshow' sites? Does anyone in SEO know the technical term for these? They're clearly there 'to drive traffic', and 'traffic is what counts', but I don't really see how and from my real world point of view it pisses me off.

They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety- Benjamin Franklin, as if you didn't know...

I feel this way when it comes to science. So much pseudo science crap on the internet it is ridiculous and pisses me off. I do not like to see science being undermined by parrots who regurgitate bullshit.

It's easier to find out facts. But it is also easier to become distracted or confused by all the information. That's why I think it's better to just grab a book and read that.

There is this good book you should read.

Would you say the same for books which specialise in the betterment of yourself as a person? Diet books? Exercise books? Self-help?

The internet has brought Roosh and others with knowledge and testaments of up-to-date facts to the masses. A book these days is quickly outdated due to the ever-changing social and commercial nature of things.

You just have to wade through the shit to get to the good stuff.

The problem I'm finding is knowing when you're reading the "good" stuff vs the "bad."

It took me a while to run across the roosh v forum when trying to find out what was wrong with my approach to women and why they are act the way they act.

The other day I was trying to find out what Quantitative Easing is and why it's ending. Took me a good little bit of reading to find some great incite on Seeking Alpha.

I think the best way to find results is to keep asking questions, until the right question is asked.
