Even though she's, justifiably, one of the most disliked women on the forum, I've found Sarah Silverman to occasionally say some good--even if not necessary laugh-out-loud funny--shit. In other words, I've always had mixed feelings toward the bitch though, admittedly, tipping toward disliking her.

The reason there is a so called pay gap, is because these idiots cite managerial and executive jobs as an example of women being paid less. Ignoring the fact that men are better at those kind of jobs, and that is why they get them over women. If a woman could do that job as well, she would get hired for it.

One thing that is almost never brought up with respect to the wage gap is this:

How much of the workforce is based on an easy to find structured wage? I honestly don't know numbers or percentages, but it has to be huge. By this I mean, simple government or military jobs must make up a huge amount of the work force. If you work for the government, with a few exceptions, you are not going to be making less than the person one cubicle over from you. You will be a Gx with x being related to your position and salary. The same is true in the military, again with exceptions like combat pay.

Also, the same is true at most companies. It will vary a little bit here, as people can negotiate more for the job but it won't be by a lot. One cashier at mcdonalds or Walmart isn't going to be making much more than the next, especially when time on the job and experience come into play.

I honestly don't understand how the same freakin people who push form minimum wages and also tend to work in the public sector also believe in this wage gap nonsense.

A more interesting fact of the wage gap is that, due to the structured nature of pay in the public and to a lesser degree the private sphere, it shows that people making a significant amount of more money are concentrated into a very small set of niches in the economy. Women can talk about their 'career' all they want, but the truth is that most don't have a career but simply a job. The same is largely true of men, but they at least don't tend to conflate the two. I tend to think of a career, vs. a job, as something that takes specialized skills and creates something where a job is just doing rote tasks and showing up on time.

The problem with Sarah Silverman is that, like many female "comedians" (is there such a thing?), she confuses vulgarity and crudity with being "edgy" and "funny". It can be funny, if it's done right, like Johnny Knoxville and the Jackass crew.

But there's just something about her whiny voice, cold demeanor, and fakeness that makes me want to look away.

She just can't pull it off. The overall effect is flat, uncomfortable, and irritating.
