Whether or not Patrick Kane is truly 100% ready, I think Chicago can trump Nash with their defense/goaltending and playoff experience. Plus, Nash peaked way back in mid-season.
Winnipeg have been impressive and the Ducks are always shakey in the postseason, so I'm picking this series to go 7.
Minnesota have also been impressive, but St. Louis also have been sharp and are looking pretty hungry.
I've got Calgary as my darkhorse pick to continue their cinderella run and beat Vancouver.
Montreal is looking pretty solid, but Ottawa won't go down without a fight.
New York is looking like a steamroller and Pittsburg have been limping for several weeks.
Tampa Bay should have enough firepower to get past Detroit
Washington and New York Islanders are both solid teams, so I think this will also be a sea-saw affair going to 7.

The OTT would be epic! I have a feeling the Hamburglar will cool off in this week off. Carey Price won't let his boys lose to a rookie goalie...
MTL gives up so many shots, and Pacioretty is still injured. So I can easily see OTT winning this series.

Anyone think it would be better if the NHL had the old 1-8 seeding matchups? I just hate to see the Central division super squads like St. Louis and Chicago risking elimination so early, I want those to be conference final type matchups. Here's what it would be:
ANA-CGY
STL-WPG
NAS-MIN
CHI-VAN
NYR-PIT
MTL-OTT
TB-DET
NYI-WAS
Odd how the East worked out the exact same.
Happy Playoff Startup Day!

Vancouver looks totally outmatched by Calgary. I was expecting a tight series but nothing like this.
Crosby looks pissed off, and might single-handedly give the NYR a run for their money. I still see the NYR winning the series.
Ottawa is totally outmatched, even more than I figured they would be.
Nashville should be very nervous.
Washington seems to be pulling their usual shit-the-bed-in-the playoffs strategy, but I expect their coach to make them improve.
Minny is better than I thought.
DET better wake up or they are finished.

That guy is the epitome of the White Knight cartoon we always see.
Notice he doesn't complain about anyone saying "Cindy" Crosby mocking the Penguins' player... Because there no fair maiden names Cindy Crosby to be rescued.

The Islanders are taking it all, every other team is just a footnote. We're burning the fucking Coliseum down on the way out.

The best part of last night's game was the fans going completely silent after Kesler's goal and the OT winner.
Also, how can Subban get 5 and a game for a slash, while Byfuglien only gets a two minute for the hit on Perry after his goal?

^ Nice. I was in Cabo San Lucas watching that final between them and the Tampa Bay Lightning. There were like 3 TV channels we got in the hotel room and somehow one of them was the Stanley cup final in English. I remember my friends getting pissed off that we were gonna be late to the bars cause I would stay in the hotel room watching all those overtime games.

I love watching the teenagers from Calgary mess up all these Vancouver vets game.
These are the stories that make the playoffs. 18 year old Bennett, second ever NHL game is delivering hard.
Fuck yeah, go Calgary. But only on principle, I live in Vancouver.

Amazing game tonight from the Flames. Congrats to them on a very gutsy series with the Canucks. Hoping my Sens can pull off the impossible against Montreal!

I love how we're playing against Hiller in the playoffs...the same year we got rid of him.
I'll wait for the Hiller chants tonight at The Pond.
Let's Go Ducks !
