ZMA as mentioned already is good for getting more restful sleep. If you want to feel tired and fall asleep then melatonin is what I’ve used. Although it usually makes me wake up earlier than I’d like, I don’t quite know why. I wouldn’t use any of the non-natural/prescription sleep aids with any regularity. They are just treating the symptom anyway, not the cause of your sleep issue.

The real key has nothing to do with supplements. You need a sleeping pattern that you follow religiously, going to bed at the same time every night. It’s important to start to dim your lights a few hours before you want to go to sleep as well to mimic sunset. Our bodies are no longer following the normal cycle they once did, due to artificial light at all hours. If you have any of those “daylight" bulbs in your house change those out for the traditional soft/yellow light bulbs.

Download F.lux on your computer, it filters the blue light on your screen. You can set the time you want to go to sleep and it will slowly change the tone of your screen to mimic sunset. Blue light is a cue to your body to wake up- not what you want when trying to get tired.

Taurine supplement. I take one before bed and it helps to relax me for easier sleep. It is NOT like a typical sleeping pill, and will not keep you asleep all night, however you can always take another if you wake up in the middle of the night. The dosage I have is 1000mg and a bottle of 100 (Now foods brand) was less than $10 on amazon.

I usually get 5-6 hours. Wake up at 6:20am. I alternate between going to gym after work 4-6 or nap 4-8 and gym 9-11. Sleep whenever after.

Melatonin! it is the *all natural* wonder drug for sleep.

I have had problems with insomnia since I was a teenager. Melatonin solved this easily.

The nice thing is, you don't have to take it all the time.

Just take it for two weeks, progressively earlier each day. Go to sleep earlier each day, and set your alarm and wake up earlier as well. Now, you have just reset your own sleep cycle.

After you're sleeping early enough, stop using it. Use it again only when you're having insomnia problems once more.

Fun fact: airline pilots use melatonin to fight the ill effects of trying to sleep in a different time zone during layovers.

My preferred brand ↓ known as "Nature's Bounty" seems to consistently make a better product; prolly because they're a small and hungry company trying to get established.
