University gym has woman only hours

just getting back to university, and I find that my gym bans males from using the facilities during peak hours.

my buddy walked in during this time and saw a total of 6 women working out and an empty running track. (also not permissible to males)

what the hell.

then there's this

first of all.......LOL Canada.

but seriously, what Univerisity? And who has to approve a policy like that? 2:1 odds are that the women's studies chair suggested it at the request of a couple of women's studies fatties who don't like to get shamed when they do their once a semester work out, and the Director of Student Recreation didn't have the balls to say, "no" to a progressive policy.

edit: for Muslims? that is so trivial and unnecessary. It doesn't make any sense. It's hard to imagine that the University would be liable for some kind of lawsuit. In fact, it seems as if the male students have a slam dunk class action lawsuit against the University for overcharging them for Student Activity Fees.

How do you Canadians put up with all that shit? Don't you get tired of it?

Heh. It's legit.

In a Facebook post last month, the RSU laid out its case for women-only workout slots. They wrote that many women feel uncomfortable exercising in the co-ed space for reasons ranging from Muslim women who will not remove their head scarves in front of men to women who the RSU argued have to endure “societal standards of beauty.”

And my favourite:

Quote:Quote:

Kennedy Brooks, a second-year Performance Production student, said she would like a male-free weight room. “It’s really kind of off-putting to come in as the only girl in the weight room and just have all these guys look at you for a second,” she says. “It’s not necessarily that they’re eyeing you like a piece of meat or anything but sometimes just like, why would a girl wanna use the weight room?”

Yes, kick out all the men in the free weight area so she can twirl around some 5 pound dumbbells.

Meghan Ancheta, a Fashion Design student, supported the women-only gym time because it might help women avoid the pick-up artists who frequent the gym.

Male students should find a public interest legal group that will help them file a complaint with the Canadian Human Rights Commission for sex discrimination. We have to start using their own rules and institutions against them.

Maybe. Maybe not. But the idea that any university owned work out equipment that would be off limits to any football players in the state of Texas so that Muslim women could dress how they pleased seems very slim. The coaches and the alumni associations would flip the fuck out before that policy was even breathed about in a meeting.

Texas is a different ballgame, but some large muslim community somewhere might take this example and push for similar measures here.

Similar to all these "Women-only gyms". There's one next to my home. Would like to see the opposite happening without any protest.

A men only gym would be badass. If a guy could get that approved with a liquor license and somehow allow smoking indoors it would be almost as awesome as the turn of the century gyms that Saxon and Sandow trained at.

Men only gym would be awesome. But if there would be drinking or smoking inside I would not go there. I don't want to inhale smoke while I catch my breath after a heavy set or some drunkard bump into me while I squat heavy weight. Did you mean drinking/smoking outside weights room like near a bar? I still think it stinks and is similar to Global fitness giving Pizza to it's customers to make them fat again so they would never switch to a serious gym. A gym should ideally be like a pure temple of health, thou shalt not pollute it with alcohol and nothing there should remind you of any unhealthy vices.

Men must stop equating masculinity with consuming poisons. Masculinity is about self control and self mastery not poisoning yourself.

Ryerson is being run to the ground by its student union. It's completely full of queers and SJWs and they keep pulling stunts like this all the time (This is the same student union whom tried to ban the men's issues group that was started by two women and a man). I've used the Ryerson gyms and Muslim girls still workout all the time. If she is making excuses about her headscarf then she is just fishing for attention. Most of them wear the Muslim performance wear and nobody hassles them.

Nobody is forcing women to wear Lulus and booty shorts in the gym. Most women prefer the cut t-shirt with a sports bra to help with mobility, I find that the standard for girls whom are serious about the gym. The women whom are serious about their gym don't play games like the serious dudes. They are locked in and what to get the hell out.

For real dudes at the gym trying to lift the girls are good eye candy but your to locked in too care. Talking to broads at the gym wastes my time and kills my focus. In all my time working out I have swooped twice, and I find better luck in running into a girl from your gym out at a bar or in a store. That situation happens way more and it's easy to get a number since you can say you can "workout together".

OP Your mistake is going to the underground gym at Ryerson since the Maple Leafs gym is to busy for them to pull this shit (I hope). The underground gym is massive but not a busy so it would be easy to implement this there. I actually don't care about women-only gym hours, it's the fact that it's during peak-hours is what got me pissed off. I don't care if this is in the early morning like 9am or at night. Give the ladies two hours a day in the am and night, if they are serious about using the gym in that setting they will make the time.... Haha. But if not, then refund men that X amount of time they can't access the facility, let women pay that premium to use it just to themselves.

It's one thing for a private members establishment to do this but I call bullshit on a public institution being to weasel past those Ontario Human Rights rules. If this were America you could easily sue the students union and basically bankrupt them in the process, not sure if it's as doable here in Canada but this could be a lawsuit in the making if it matches up right.

So glad I'm out of that city. I bet if you take a testosterone test of the males and females in that place, the women may show to be slightly higher.

I literally could feel my balls receeding with each year I spent in that place.

Good luck, fellas!

Get a group of friends who have balls (this is the hardest step)

Do calisthenics or a physical game that requires some skill. (Kickball, dodgeball etc.)

Workout in front of the gym wearing shirts that have shock value like this.

If they ask say that the outside of the gym is a men's only section and go back to doing push-ups.

There now you've stood up against the bitchcriarchy!

Nope.

Women spent the last half century barging into men's space and making everything from gyms to barbershops to colleges co-ed and "unisex."

Now that they've gotten their wish, they seek to separate the sexes again, as if it was 1955. The media should point this out.

Think of this as a metaphor for dealing with individual women. Concede to her every wish and she'll just want something else.

Men should have stood their ground when the unisex bullshit started taking hold in the '60s.

Seconding Kosko on this, Ryerson has always been extreme is its liberalism. That was the university to go to if you wanted to be a SJW when I was young, just like Trent was the university to go to if you wanted to minor in being gay.
