I thought that this was pretty cool. Pictures showing life in Moscow and other cities in the late 1980s/early 1990s.

Wow, incredible pictures. One thing I notice is that Russian women seem to age really hard.

When I walked for days on the streets of Kiev I thought so as well that although so many young beauties it is hard to spot an 35+ lady which look good. But when visiting some high class places you can see many older women looks very good.
My conclusion is that it is less genetics and more the quality and level of life a woman has, with higher levels aging slowly.

Japanese women seem to age the best among wealthier countries. Their lives are not perfect but their stress is more that of being trapped in a very boring country with no opportunities, but with a healthy diet of fish, vegetables, and rice.

In fact, I sometimes find that the more boring a place is, the healthier and stabler I am. I was fit as a fucking fiddle in Japan while bored out of my mind. All I did was walk around and eat rice. A safe, harmonious country, while boring, can do that. It's hard to explain. If you live in Japan for a while you'll find that it's a pretty easy, stress-free life.

Anyway, of course in Western countries there's a lot of social disharmony, a lot of stress. We don't age as well.
