I think the current situation and the aftermath of it will be that it will keep away most of the average tourists for a good while. And of course, this can only be a positive for the brave and bold who will go there despite it all. It might even make things a little cheaper as less tourists will mean that businesses, especially hotels will offer good deals to the few tourists there.
Hydro, the black passenger, yellow cabs is indeed a hilarious book. I'd skip the first chapter or 2 as it talks about his upbringing in Jamaica and it's a nice read. Quite raw kind of thing. However, as soon as he gets into the Japan part, then things become very interesting. This guy found a good niche and he's cleaning it. His niche is the "untouchables", that is women past their "expiration date" in Japan which is girls over 28 and or married women with or without kids who are completed ignored by their husbands. All in all, a good book. I also love books that are about Japan or set in Japan so I'll definitely check the ones you mentioned. LOL Any other books about Japan, J-culture or books that are set in Japan that either you or anyone else in here can recommend?

At current exchange rates, I think most will want to give Japan a pass. If you are spending dollars, you will need a minimum of $35-40K if you want to live with any comfort for a year.

Why do people worry about earthquakes so damn much? They're not that strong on average. I lived in LA my whole life and people from outside LA were always jumpy about even the slightest movement. You're much, much more likely to get hit by a car than die in an earthquake. Especially in New York or London.
Anyway, I'm determined to make it to Japan before 30 since I've always been pretty into the culture. Though I guess that's going to be difficult since next year I'll almost be 30.
My goal is to add a J-girl my harem in addition to a Brazilian and Russian.

I agree the fear of earthquakes is overdone but the frequency and intensity of the earthquakes in Tokyo is much higher than in CA. Also, there were hundreds of aftershocks after Fukushima so people were understandably on edge.

I'm in the midst of deciding which country to travel to for summer break. I have maybe a week or two. I want to travel to a country where I can maximize my bait. I speak Japanese fluently, but I look Japanese, so I don't have that white American look. Would this hurt or help my game?
I'm also thinking about Spain, Canada, Brazil or Australia. Where is a good place for an Asian person to go gaming outside the country?
This is a very narrow question, but where is a good place to find half-Asian, half-white girls? Or better yet, half-Japanese, half-white girls?
