Well, that's the question. I mean 100% pure peanut butter without added sugar. I love that shit and eat it straight from the jar.

Personally, I prefer almond butter because almonds are proper nuts while peanuts are legumes and therefore, according to the internet, unhealthier. Fresh homemade almond butter with sea salt and a bit of honey is pretty awesome and girls love it. While preparing the latest batch a girl even went so far as to lick it off my dick. It was that delicious. [Image: icon_mrgreen.gif]

Yeah it's a good snack. It is very easy to over consume though. A serving is usually 2 tablespoons and ~200+ calories. People usually underestimate how much they eat though as 2 tablespoons really isn't that much.

I won't buy it too often just because I know I have a weakness for it. Great if you're bulking up (though it's high in fat).

If only you knew how bad things really are.

Nuts in general are good for bulking but I would limit them if you're trying to stay lean. They're very calorie dense food and chances are you'll need to eat more than you should in order to satiate yourself.

I used to make pistachio shakes that must have been at least 1500 calories each. I would pound those regularly and I went from 185 to 215 in a year. My BF% also went up obviously, but I was happy with the weight gain. I enjoyed having a generally bigger torso and especially back. I'm at 200 now trying to get down to 10%BF.

My favorite nuts are pistachios. I make make granola with toasted oats, pumpkin seeds, shredded coconut, pistachios, and dried cherries, all of it sweetened with maple syrup. Shit is like crack. Just a little bit sprinkled over yogurt gives me a fix and a little goes a long way.

"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."

How about normal peanuts or cashews? What's your take?

Here in Asia I keep buying some bags of peanuts or cashews as a snack with coffee if I get hungry.

pure nuts are good for you, there are better nuts like macadamia nuts and almond nuts and brazil nuts for your health, but either way as long as they sugar free and other oils then you're right, it is healthy.

While “nut” is in their name, peanuts are in fact legumes. Peanuts actually grow underground, as opposed to nuts like walnuts, almonds, etc. that grow on trees.

You know you're healthy when you're wondering if 100% all natural peanut butter is healthy enough for you.

You're doing good man, most people snack on doritos or nutella.

Humans aren't meant to consume peanuts. Because:

1. They're highly allergenic.

2. They're highly inflammatory.

3. All brands of peanut butter, organic or not, contain varying amount of aflatoxin.

Aflatoxin is a byproduct of mold that grows naturally on peanuts.

And it's very carcinogenic.

I'd definitely choose almond butter from a health perspective. And personally, I think it tastes better too.

If you're not allergic to peanuts, then the first point is not a concern.

I've tried this stuff. The taste is absolutely awful, though. How do you eat it? This is the type of peanut butter with the "natural separation" if I'm not mistaken. Unless we're talking about something else.

2 tbsp of Skippy and I'm ok.

Yeah, thats it and I like it. Maybe you should try another brand. Also, I put it into my blender and mix it with bananas, milk/ kefir/ buttermilk and cinnamon.

Peanut, almond and nut butters recalled on fears of salmonella

The Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday that nSpired Natural Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling several lots of peanut, almond and other nut butters on fears of salmonella contamination. The company was made aware of the risk after routine testing showed a potential link between consumption of these products and four instances of illness.

The affected products include Arrowhead Mills Peanut Butters, MaraNatha Almond Butters and Peanut Butters and specific private label nut butters sold under the Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Kroger and Safeway brands.

A complete list of products involved in the recall can be found on FDA.gov. The company is working with consumers and retailers to remove inventory from retail shelves and warehouses. The products were sold in the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, Dominican Republic and online.

Customers are being advised to dispose of any potentially affected containers of nut butter and contact the company directly at 1-800-937-7008 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. CT for a replacement or refund.
