Damn, that's a close scare. I'm going to make sure there is no overlap of pictures from dating sites with LinkedIn or Facebook.

Even if he was doing some crazy shit on video, who cares? It's not illegal.

You can't blackmail someone who doesn't care.

Never back down from this type of thing. Once you fall for that, it never ends.

Exactly!! I happened to be a victim of the exact same scam a year ago when I was pipelining the Philippines.
I told her I'm already a pornstar on internet, I don't have any money, wished her good luck, blocked her and forgot about it. Still didn't anyone of my facebook contacts get anything(from witch I know anyway). She asked for my facebook though I never accepted the request she couldn't see any of my contacts.

And even if she were to send it to anyone, so what?? I'm a man and she got me horny.. Nothing to be a shamed of.

Bojangles,
I'm not in the EU. Can you really delete all your info from their searches? That's HUGE! Thanks for the tip man! Didn't know that!

Google image search your pics and delete those profiles where they are held. If you used linked-in, make sure it's private.

Unfortunately you're in the EU, because I used google's removal service to remove all my information from their searches.

Google only removes information from its European sites (.co.uk, .it, .fr, etc.). If someone uses the Google site for another country (Russia, google.com, google.ca, etc.) the info will still appear in the search.

Not true. As I already explained, Google will remove personal information from its U.S. search engine -- although it may take awhile (two or three months).

I have personal experience actually doing it, unless there is a new policy in place. I would tend to doubt that is the case, considering all the heat that Google takes regarding the loss of personal privacy.

What they will remove from their global index is very limited, and they won't help you with photos or videos:

I don't view that as a good long-term strategy. Facebook and Google already have facial recognition technology, which they have, for the time being, chosen to limit it due to privacy concerns. However, you can be sure that as time goes on it will become more pervasive.

I don't use Facebook, but from what I've read, if you have a Facebook profile, an adversary only needs to upload your photo and then your face will automatically scanned and tagged.

I agree that Google U.S. has fairly tight restrictions on its criteria for removal. Then again, Goggle U.S. does remove some photographs and videos, which could come in handy considering what some of the guys on this forum are doing. [Image: tongue.gif]

For those unaware, your built-in computer webcam is one of the easiest things to remotely hack

As in, someone could hack in, disable the LED signaling it's "ON", then activate the lens and watch/record at will. There will be no difference in the appearance of the computer, but the camera will be feeding to the remote monitor.

Black electrical tape over the lens when not in use for me.

Two biggest ways to avoid this are to not use wi-fi spots and NEVER use bluetooth...it's a wonder bluetooth is still relevant it's been a field day for crime since its inception

lol. Black electrical tape leaves a residue that is very difficult to remove when you must use the web cam. I learned my lesson. I just use a post-it. [Image: tongue.gif]

If I try to "like" a post a second time, my computer will say, "you have already 'liked' this post", or something similar to that. Most of the time, there is NO option available to "like" a post a second time. Must have just been a glitch of timing or something? Maybe simultaneously liking from two different devices or browsers?

Not so fast, Atlantic! You have the power of 2 "likes"....that is bloody impressive, no doubt. But there are others with the power of 2 "reps"....

Sammy and Hooligan Harry had you beat.

Ya I think you could up until the great rep point fiasco of 2012 when former member Mixx quit the forum over it, rep points were temporarily suspended. VP I almost spit my coffee out when I read this thread, fucking classic man!

Ya this is one of my favourite threads of late.

I have a feeling that more went down though then VP is telling us.

I mean if she was trying to blackmail you she would want as incriminating evidence as possible.

Come on VP tell us what really happened....
