Governor Rick Perry is correct, ISIS can walk right in through Mexico. When the next big terrorist attack originates that way, that will be the day they finally protect the border.

Sure, because that's how the 9/11 terrorists got in the US instead of using the US/Canada border that has less security....oh wait.

Groups push O-Care coverage for Dreamers

A coalition of public health, labor and immigrant rights groups is urging President Obama to extend health coverage to immigrants allowed to remain in the United States under the administration’s controversial deferred action program.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA), initiated via executive action in 2012, allows certain immigrants who came to the United States illegally as children to stay in the country and work.

But under guidance and regulations issued that year, those immigrants — often called “Dreamers” in reference to the stalled DREAM Act — are not entitled to health coverage under the Affordable Care Act, federal Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Roughly 80 national organizations, including the AFL-CIO, the National Council of La Raza and the American Public health Association, note in a letter to Obama that tax dollars from the DACA grantees help support those programs.

“To continue to restrict immigrants’ access to affordable health coverage and care is to undermine values of fairness and opportunity, and this administration’s own achievements in expanding access to coverage, lowering healthcare costs, and sustaining the healthcare system for future generations,” the groups write.

With immigration reform legislation now mired in congressional gridlock, Obama is said to be weighing a new round of executive action on the issue.

A group of legal scholars called this week for a dramatic expansion of the DACA program as part of a set of proposed actions within Obama’s authority. The step could extend eligibility for the program to thousands or even millions of additional immigrants now in the country illegally.

Critics of the idea, including numerous congressional Republicans, have pushed back forcefully against the idea and are unlikely to embrace the new calls to extend federal healthcare programs to those who currently have DACA status.

But the groups pushing the idea are appealing to the president to say extending the coverage to DACA grantees makes both moral and economic sense.

“These federal restrictions are harmful to immigrant families and communities, establish a dangerous precedent, and are costly and counterproductive,” they wrote. “The restrictions have caused administrative burdens and have emboldened state lawmakers to discriminate against DACA grantees.”

Illegal Aliens Storm the Beach in San Diego, Second Attempt Thwarted

Illegal aliens successfully landed on a San Diego beach in a panga boat on Monday and ran to shore - but, when another group tried the same thing on Tuesday, U.S. Customs and Border (CBP) agents were waiting for them.

Around 7am Monday morning, a horde of illegal aliens stormed a San Diego beach after coming ashore in a panga boat. They sprinted across the beach and climbed over a wall, entering the city.

Seven of the illegal aliens were spotted by helicopter and later apprehended several blocks from the beach; the CBP is still looking for at least ten more who remain at-large, NBC7 in San Diego reports.

Then, about 1am Tuesday morning, a second panga boat filled with 20 illegal aliens was intercepted about off the coast of San Diego County by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents.

CBP Air Interdiction Agents in an OAM Multi-role Enforcement Aircraft (MEA) King Air 350ER spotted the 30-foot panga around 30 miles from the coastal city of Del Mar. The MEA crew directed two OAM Interceptor boats to the panga's location.

The OAM boats caught up with and stopped the panga about 12 miles west of the city of Oceanside at around 2:30 a.m. The United States Coast Guard Cutter Tern was also in the area providing information and assistance.

Farm worker faces No. 2 Republican for House seat

Garcia, 46, is a Mexican immigrant who speaks little English and says he entered the U.S. illegally at age 17 to look for work. He became a naturalized citizen under the amnesty signed by President Ronald Reagan in 1986 and has spent a quarter-century picking crops in the region.

From those beginnings, he is taking on one of the most powerful Republicans in Washington, a politically savvy lawmaker who knows his district well. McCarthy is unlikely to make Cantor's mistake of spending too much time away from his district.

But even if he can't hope to defeat McCarthy, Garcia wants at least to get him to confront the question of where inaction on immigration legislation leaves America's workers. "I want Congressman McCarthy to give us a straight answer," Garcia says in his campaign ad.

Just goes to show. Prejudice is dumb. It observes no boundaries. Be it race, youth, gender.

It pays to be enlightened. Walk in the other guys shoes metaphorically if you can. It's a hard trick.

Then again, there is Buddha, and there is slow as molasses ignorance. I'd feel sorry for them if I could be bothered. But I can't.

I might be more enlightened than the next guy, but I also have more contempt.

No one's perfect.

But these fuckwits make me wonder. Were they bred? A product of genetic evolution. Or were they made? A product of state propaganda.

Never mind. Who cares. They exist. And they shouldn't.

Americans Now Favor GOP on Immigration — WSJ/NBC Poll
Laura Meckler ∙ Wall Street Journal ∙ September 9, 2014, 6:38 PM

Americans are now more likely to trust Republicans to handle immigration, and less likely to support legislation backed by most Democrats giving illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds. These shifts in public opinion come in the wake of a spring and summer surge in Central American children illegally crossing the southwest border.

U.S. Army soldier accused of smuggling undocumented immigrants

A U.S. Army soldier has been accused of smuggling two undocumented immigrants across the Texas-Mexico border while in uniform, according to a federal criminal complaint.

Eric Alexander Rodriguez, 20, a private in the Army, was charged with felony "bringing in and harboring certain aliens" on Friday in United States District Court Southern District of Texas, according to court records.

Rodriguez is accused of hiding two undocumented immigrants in his pickup truck on Thursday as he crossed into the United States at the Sarita, Texas, checkpoint, about 180 miles south of San Antonio.

U.S. Border Patrol agents found the immigrants hiding on the floorboard behind the front seat, covered with a bed sheet and a military jacket with Rodriguez's name tag, court records said.

Rodriguez was wearing his military uniform during the incident, the complaint said.

Prosecutors said one of the immigrants told authorities he paid $3,000 to be smuggled into the United States and Rodriguez was the driver who picked them up and transported them farther north.

Rodriguez is being held in Cameron County jail. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. He is based at Fort Hood, according to the Army.

U.S. immigration protesters drop U.S. border blockade plan

DALLAS (Reuters) - A plan by U.S. protesters against illegal immigration to block traffic at more than a dozen border crossings in the southwest on Saturday was canceled after organizers said they received online threats from Mexican drug cartels.

Billed as a "Shut Down All Ports Of Entry" protest against the Obama administration's immigration policies, demonstrators had said they would try to stop incoming and outgoing traffic at 17 locations in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.

But lead organizer Stasyi Barth posted a warning on the event's official website saying that a combination of violent threats and "suspicious activity" on the group's Facebook page prompted her to call off the action.

"If you attend, you are not just putting yourself in danger, but the law enforcement officers, as well," Barth wrote. "Risking anyone's life is not worth it!"

Another organizer, Rob Chupp, said the threats came from Mexican drug cartels, but did not elaborate. He said that while the protest was officially canceled, he and some others still planned to demonstrate in Brownsville, Texas.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement on Friday it has been coordinating with local police departments to respond to any situation near the ports of entry.

US: Immigrant families fail to report to agents

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Tens of thousands of young families caught crossing the border illegally earlier this year subsequently failed to meet with federal immigration agents, as they were instructed, the Homeland Security Department has acknowledged privately.

An official with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement revealed that about 70 percent of immigrant families the Obama administration had released into the U.S. never showed up weeks later for follow up appointments.

The ICE official made the disclosure in a confidential meeting at its Washington headquarters with immigration advocates participating in a federal working group on detention and enforcement policies. The Associated Press obtained an audio recording of Wednesday's meeting and separately interviewed participants.

On the recording obtained by the AP, the government did not specify the total number of families released into the U.S. since October. Since only a few hundred families have already been returned to their home countries and limited U.S. detention facilities can house only about 1,200 family members, the 70 percent figure suggests the government released roughly 41,000 members of immigrant families who subsequently failed to appear at federal immigration offices.

The official, who was not identified by name on the recording obtained by the AP, also said final deportation had been ordered for at least 860 people traveling as families caught at the border since May but only 14 people had reported as ordered.

In a statement, ICE spokeswoman Gillian Christensen did not respond to questions from the AP about the newly disclosed figures. Instead, she said the agency was committed to increasing its capacity to detain and quickly deport families who crossed the border illegally.

The AP reported in June that the administration would not say publicly how many immigrant families from Central America caught crossing into the U.S. it had released in recent months or how many of those subsequently reported back to the government after 15 days as directed. The AP noted that senior U.S. officials directly familiar with the issue, including at the Homeland Security Department and White House, had dodged the answer on at least seven occasions over two weeks, alternately saying that they did not know the figure or didn't have it immediately at hand.

U.S. government funds lawyers for immigrant children

The Obama administration is spending $4 million on lawyers for unaccompanied immigrant children in deportation proceedings, a move an influential Republican lawmaker says is illegal and will fuel an increase in illegal immigration.

After being detained by federal authorities, children are placed in shelters overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services until they can be released to a relative or sponsor in the United States. The children are then given a date to appear in immigration court for deportation proceedings, though many will seek to remain in the country by applying for asylum or other forms of immigration relief.

Immigrants are allowed to have counsel in immigration courts, but lawyers are not guaranteed or provided at government expense. Immigrant advocates have filed a federal lawsuit in Seattle demanding the government provide attorneys for the children.

Earlier this year, the Justice Department announced plans to enroll about 100 lawyers and paralegals as members of AmeriCorps to provide legal assistance to unaccompanied immigrant children.

Proof: Virus leaving U.S. children paralyzed did come from Central America

Though the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) refuses to discuss the origin of the current outbreak of Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68), the fact that emergency rooms across the country began seeing infected children around the same time as the nation's public schools were re-opening for the 2013-2014 school year, should serve as at least a clue as to how the virus made its way here.

Of course, the Obama administration has allowed tens of thousands of children to enter this country illegally over the past several months, and most of them have now been admitted to our public schools.

Between Oct. 1, 2013 and Aug. 31, 2014 there were 66,127 so-called "unaccompanied minors" entered this country along our Southern border and processed by officials, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The CBP lists the country of origin for most of those children...

-El Salvador...15,800

-Guatemala...16,528

-Honduras...17,975

-Mexico...14,702

While the evidence seems to point to the recent surge of illegal aliens as the cause of the EV-D68 outbreak, now there is proof...

A 2013 Defense Department study conducted in Central and South America on patients with flu-like illness, did identify EV-D68 in some of the test subjects. All 3,375 test subjects were age 25 or under.

The CDC now reports that cases of EV-D68 have been seen in 43 states as well as the District of Columbia. However, unofficially, the virus which has left many children with permanent breathing problems and limb paralysis, has also taken the life of four U.S. children, since mid-August.

On Sept. 25, 4-year-old Eli Waller died in his sleep at his home in Hamilton, NJ.

Guatemalan teens escape from Illinois detention center and carjack a 91-year-old Navy veteran

Two teenage asylum seekers from Guatemala have escaped a detention center in Illinois and carjacked a 91-year-old Navy veteran.
The incident has prompted the federal government to order a security review at all 139 shelters across the country that house illegal immigrant minors, MailOnline can exclusively reveal.

The boys, age 16 and 17, were able to walk away unchallenged from Maryville Academy in Des Plaines, Illinois, outside Chicago, on Wednesday morning and carjack two victims before they were arrested more than 225 miles away outside Iowa City, Iowa, according to authorities.

Police say they targeted an elderly man in Moline, Illinois, who was picking up his prescription at Walmart.

They threatened him with violence, forced him out of his car and then sped off with his Buick LeSabre

I bet it broke that old mans heart to have this happen. Likely served in WW2 and/or Korea and was part of the greatest genertion.

Now he watches illegals flood into the country and nothing being done about it. Illegals who dont want anything to do with americn culture and sure dont respect it.

That is my biggest argument these days. The immigrants arent exactly proud to be here or to become American. They dont give a fuck and continue to live whatever lifestyle they lived at the bottom class of their 3rd world country.
