anyone else just starting out?

I posted a few times in the main forum and got weird results so this might be the place to start.

5 year Marine Coprs vet, left a decent (15/hour IT) job because I felt like I was just reenforcing bitch beta behavior in that situation. Tried college on the GI bill before that and it didn't work out for reasons I won't go into here.

I headed out west today from the east coast but my axle broke so I'm sitting in an Applebee's surfing the oil sands thread and figured I'd see if anyone else could relate.

Anyone else starting out on the whole red pill journey thing?

Right here with you. I quit a good job of almost 7 years last month, sold my truck, sold my furniture, and am now surviving off of stock dividends and a residential property I'm renting out. All I have is clothes, an iPad and a kindle. Ended a 5.5 year ltr last year. Just moved down here to the Miraflores district of Lima Peru for a few months before venturing off somewhere else. So far so good. I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for the sphere and RVF. This is just the first leg of a great journey of self improvement and to live a life of my choosing. I'm a free man.

Experience any major problems right at the outset? I'm not saying I belive in karma but sometimes it seems like everything goes to hell when you take the right road. Just bought a FZJ80 landcruiser and the damn axle snapped out of nowhere.

My motivation is strong tho, I worked out instead of watching tv and beating off in the cheap hotel I got and I'm planning my next move.

Good luck to you brother.

Biggest roadblock so far is communication. My spanish needs some serious improvement, but still managing to get by relatively well. Though it's only been a week in town so it's early to say yet. That and I'm not to impressed with the quality of girls, they're friendly and are receptive to trying to communicate, but physically they're not that special. This is a great spot logistically though. Everything you could ever need, gym, market, bars, restaurants, Jiu jitsu center is all within walking distance. Great spot so far for someone to come and get their feet wet.

What about work? All I've got as far as marketability is stuff I did in the corps and that's not that extensive, my Spanish is there, but barely. I was planning on going to the Alberta oil fields but Lima has always been a dream. Honesty I'm down for anything, collecting data right now.

Work I'm not to sure about. I'll keep an ear out, and if I learn anything about working as foreigner I'll get back to you. Though if you have good spanish I'm sure you could get a job teaching English. If you can land a job in the sands and save up a pile of cash in a year or two, invest it, or save and then hit the road to foreign shores. Life is definitely cheaper down here. One day at a time man, that's something I have to keep reminding myself. So much to do and see. It's a journey.

I'd like to build some capital before anything else. If you could keep me in the loop on Lima jobs is be grateful.

@Spectrumwalker. What's your accommodation? I'll be in Lima from 8th of August for a couple weeks. Have booked a hostel for a few days, but looking for an apartment of some sorts for the remaining days.

@Baka. I'm staying in private apartments. If you haven't done so already make sure and check out the Peru threads here. They are a treasure trove of quality information.
