Advice on where/how to buy a house

I am moving out of my crappy apartment.

My goal is to get a place that is a bachelor pad with great logistics that helps me fuck more women.

I live in SLC.

I am preapproved to take out a big mortgage. My credit score is over 800.

I recognize the dangers of going into a lot of debt. I also recognize that the bachelor pad is not everything, and that lots of players plow through tons of hot pussy in a crappy studio in Ukraine. And I also realize that I could save my money, or half of my income, and stay in a small apartment or buy a small, affordable house.

I'm disinclined to do all that because:

1. 30-50 are my prime fucking years (I'm 32). I might as well pay more to have a great place to do that.
2. I don't want to live like a miser or a hermit during my best years.
3. The government creates a lot of pressure to be a homeowner (interest deductions, housing price inflation/investment).
4. Rightly or wrongly, women in the US just assume that older, successful professional men should live in a nicer house instead of a crappy apartment.
5. If I naively get a big mortgage, and the economy tanks, then I will be in the same group as a lot of other people. We'll all get through it together somehow (e.g., government bailouts). Overall, though, I have a pretty good career and should be able to handle the mortgage.

With all of that in mind, I think logistics are king, and I would like to move somewhere with excellent logistics, where I can put a few places on lock. I would like my place to be pretty scenic/impressive, perhaps with a hot tub, where I can throw parties.

I like in Salt Lake City, which is not party central. I would consider moving to another city, but I'm not sure which one would be pussy paradise. Also, the skinny/outdoorsy/white girl ratio is pretty high here. It just comes with a lot of crazy/religious bullshit, and most of the best girls are taken.

There are certain "hot spots" downtown. But downtown is more expensive, has older/crappier buildings. And, honestly, I mostly meet girls through online dating (with reasonable success). So moving downtown would cost more, and involve sacrifices and a shift in my game strategy.

Any advice is appreciated.

I'd say buy something that you like, in an area you like, and that fits your logistics, don't buy based on what some bar whore you meet might like. Your the one that has to live there.

Also, you can have the nicest place in the world but if you can't get women back there it's pointless so don't rely on a place to do your work for you.

I say this because first house I bought I based my location somewhat on where friends lived and nightlife and all that and honestly a couple years down the road all my friends have moved away, I'm not really into the bar scene anymore, at least not in that particular area, etc. Now I'm renting the place out. Don't get me wrong it worked out great for me I had roomates for a few years who paid down my mortgage for me and I lived rent and expense free. I'm now renting the place out to a family who pays on time and I'm netting about $400 above what my nut is, so all has workd out but taught me a lesson about buying for yourself vs for someone else or for some vision you have.

As far as cities, if you want to move move but if your happy where you are stay where you are. I'm looking to buy another place, debating whether I want to buy like a 2 flat or something where I can live there and make some income or whether I just want to buy a straight income property to rent or whether I want to buy my dream house. I'm wrestling withh whether to stay in Chciago move down to south Florida or maybe Charleston SC where my parents are right now and forseeably for the next few years.

Think about whether you want a SFH, townhome or condo. I like SFH, I like having a yard, I like being able to have people over for a bbq and have parking and stuff. It also comes with work or expenses maintaining a yard and home though. TH or condo is much easier in most exterior maintenance is taken care of you and kinda nice having amenities. Keep in mind condo dues are not tax deductable. There's many pimp ass places in Chicago for pretty cheap but assoication fees are like $800 a month, fuck that, thats basically throwing money away oftentimes for not even that great amenities and even if you rent it good luck getting rent high enough to cover that plus mortmage plus taxes.

Think about what fits your lifesstyle and what you want as well as what you will want 5 years down the road.

As far as other cities any other cities in particular you are considering? We seemt o have people from all over on here some people could probably chime in on possibilities your considering.

Advice on where/how to buy a house

That is all great advice.

Anyone else have advice?

Here are so more specific questions:

1. where specifically in SLC would be best for logistics? Do I need to be near the "hot stops" downtown, or would a luxurious house on the mountains overlooking the Valley be just as good? I meet girls at my place 10x more often than I do at clubs downtown, but everyone here talks about approaching girls in bars/clubs.

2. is a SFH better for logistics? Or a condo/townhouse? Does it make any difference?

3. is the financial security from getting a smaller 125k house better/smarter/sexier than going in deep to get a fancy 400k house?

Buying a house is like buying a anchor.

Why not live in Las Vegas at a Condo on the strip or close to the strip. Somewhere in City Center or The Martin. Its close enough to Utah if you have any roots there at all.

The Martin (off strip but great logistically still):

In City Center:

If living a bachelor's dream is what you want to do, you should not look at a big house, but a centrally located place.

Buying a house is more expensive than renting in most cases, more risky than renting, and it ties you to a location.

Don't do it.

An anchor that needs to be fixed before you can sell it in my case.

Yea man... the joys of being a homeowner. Hope you get it fixed and sold as fast and painless as possible if thats what you desire DJ-Matt

It has its pros and cons like anything else. But to me the cons way heavy, something major goes wrong you are responsible for repairing it. Property taxes and insurance and other random fees. An the big thing is your usually going to be anchored down to a certain city if you own a home there. Not always but its going to be a hassle more then likely to up and move to another city or country while owning a home somewhere.

My master plan as of recently is to sell the house, move into tiny cheap apartment downtown, and spend most of my time in the camper or out and about meeting girls.
