What courses do you recommend me to take?

I have finished university last year and im still not sure if i am going to work because i keep on travelling and at the same time im making enough money to sustain my lifestyle.

Wherever i am going to go next, i want to make sure i do a course, learn a skill and do something that will enstrength me as a person.

What courses, skills do you recommend other people to do/learn? I am graduated in business management so it can be anything related to my studies in order to have more experience for my future career as a back up or it can be something totally irrelevant with business, just a skill for life. Anybody got any ideas in mind? Thanks.

You already have a degree so I don't recommend that you do a Masters course if you can get a job without one. If you go for a masters then you will graduate in another 2 years or by 2013. If by then the economy tanks you will be a fresher without any work experience. That is not a good thing.

Your best option is to learn new languages such as Mandarin, Turkish, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Then get a job abroad, kill two birds with one stone - experience and a new country and gain valuable work experience.

After 2-3 years go for a specialist Masters course.

But I am not a big fan of corporate slave training programs aka college degrees and this is coming from a guy who has 17 years of good college education. . If I were you I would just start my own business.

Your choice.

I am already fluent with spanish and portuguese and im actually looking to start learning french. And i have my small businesses on the side but i want to do something that i can combine with my travelling. Gaining work experience will push me to be stucked in a country for a certain period.

What about something to do with boats? Repairing marine diesels, navigation, something that would be useful for big boats on long voyages. There’s no way you wouldn’t travel with that kind of skill. I suppose skills related to maintaining and operating airplanes would be similarly useful for a traveling lifestyle.

I want to second the motions that you:

1. Learn a trade (that you can sell pretty much anywhere in the world);
2. Study a language.

This covers your bases and opens up your future choices. If I had to do it over again, that's what I would do.

Business grads are a dime a dozen. Learn a technical trade and you'll be more marketable. I have a background in both and don't have a problem staying employed. PMI cert wouldn't hurt either. I'm looking into doing 3-6 month contracts and taking the rest for mini-retirements.

Project Management Institute. I'll be knocking it out sometime this year.

You took enough courses already. It's time to do something real. Consider a short-term overseas assignment or other exploratory business venture. Become a language instructor or teacher for a year, Peace Corps, an internship, etc.

Or become a yoga master, run a 5-minute mile, climb a mountain, hitchhike across Europe, become a bicycle courier, become a street performer, get a job on a lobster boat, play poker online, join the military.

Join the military, even if just the reserves. My MOS school in the Corps was 1500 class hours, and has carried me far in life.

I learned a lot in the Corps and employers always note it on my resume. My school was intense and included lasers, advanced optics, missile systems, turrets, night vision, thermal imagers, ect. Shit you won't learn or see in a trade school. It also helped me break into gov't contracting, where I make great money. Being a vet has a lot of benefits in the civvie world. I wouldn't give a million dollars for my four years. I spent time in forward deployable units, lived in Oki and saw about a dozen countries before separating. And bitches go nuts for a Marine wearing dress blues.

I agree with Aliblahba. Unless you finished at the top of your class a Business degree does not mean much these days.

An option for a technical trade - Cyber security is going to be the next big thing. If you have an aptitude for technical stuff then you can look into that.
