I haven't been to a barber since I was a kid. I've always cut my own hair. I used to think a pair of clippers is a pair of clippers and they all do the job of cutting your hair, which is true. But I'm also now realizing that the cheapest pair of Remington clippers I buy from Walmart aren't doing the job efficiently. I have a very simple haircut. Just an even buzz with no fade like Doc Rivers:

A haircut like that should take about 5 minutes to do tops. But it takes me way longer with cheap clippers because I have to keep passing over the same areas multiple times because one pass won't cut everything even.
For you guys that cut your hair, what brand of quality clippers do you recommend?
I'm also looking for a new beard trimmer too. I was using a cheap Wahl beard trimmer set that cost like $20. It got the job done. But I recently broke it and replaced it with another sub-$20 Remington beard trimmer which I hate already. I need it to be able to cut nearly clean straight to the skin without having to go over the same area over and over again just to get it right. And btw I don't shave clean because of razor bump problems.
