Odessa in July: Genius Move or Idiocy Unleashed?

I was in Odessa a couple of times. Did pretty well there. Girls are more difficult, but there are -or used to be- so many of them that in the end you can get a pretty hot one if you have some game. And speaking Russian would be a big plus as well (I didn't at the time).

Not sure to what you are referring to, but I get the sense you can find all kinds of Ukrainian girls in Odessa. Compared to other places in Ukraine, there is perhaps a bit more sleaze here, but that's typical of any touristic place.

Its Ujkraines tijuana [Image: blush.gif]

The thing with Odessa is foreign status really means less than most places in Ukraine including probably Moscow, plus you are competing with all the tourists and local guys.
But in some ways it might be better today than back in the day due to more who speak English. Back a decade ago it really couldn't compare to Kiev. Kiev had the highest amount of English speakers plus girls came from all over. Odessa the population actually has been shrinking.

@Roosh....actually your own words if I recall was that the clubs were full of snobs. Same word I used [Image: angel.gif].
Another point that you mentioned that surprised me is that you said Arcadia wasn't happening 7 days a week when you were there. That actually surprised me because years ago Arcadia was jumping about every day of the week. Sunday night even was even crowded. That makes me suspect either:
a. people have less money
b. people have been going somewhere else.
I guess it can be compared to the famous elitist St. P girls, except in St. P the elite girls are engaged in high culture and in Odessa it is clubs. But if one day games I suspect it beats out most Ukrainian cities except Kiev.

Also realize that I was gaming without game and using mostly "LOOK" game. So since Kiev girls used to pinch my behind in clubs and women use to literally throw themselves at me, even in front of the girl who came my wife, I am a little biased lol. Kiev and many provinces I did nothing but walk the street, no effort required. While I had to actually 'gulp' initiate and use effort in South UA. For someone who isn't willing to game obviously I am going to pick the city where the girls don't act like I need to win them and it takes as little effort as possible.

Also be aware that I basing my opinion as someone who has spent every season there. Summer is great and fun, but I and most of my expat friends felt that once the summer is over the attitude is pretty negative and it gets boring.Kiev, St. P, Warsaw, Moscow are year long cities.

Nothing beats Kreschatik! But I suspect if I was gaming Moscow main street I would change my mind. Something special about cruising a big street and meeting girls from all over the country who came to the big city in search of dreams( actresses, models, porn stars, etc)

@ what pechorin said :"Dnipropetrovsk is definitely the most enjoyable city in Ukraine by the way."

I actually concur! I had a friend that came from Dnipro bragging how all the girls looked like models, etc and that they were the most "made up".

I then went there for a small trip and I was amazed. The main street stretches forever and has two sides that are out of view from each other because of the center trams so one can basically day game 24 hours there with new women walking up and down continuously.

However I found the night life lacking there at the time. Top club was Labyrinth and it was pretty empty. But I found out that people cruise that big park of the main street. So a cheap way to game I guess.

Dnipropetrovsk has rather mediocre girls. It is the quality Kiev had 10 years ago.In discos the situation is better but all of them ask for present before entering a relationship.

No it seems they only ask you for gifts 100% of the time lol. Seriously....every girl asked you for a gift? All 100%! Why are you meeting girls in clubs and entering relationships with them?
Club girls= bad relationship material( probably around the world)

Secondly I am not sure what you are talking about when you mention quality. Look wise in my opinion girls were much better in Kiev 10 years ago. So to say the girls in Dnipro are like Kiev girls were 10 years ago is a compliment!

Remember most guys on here rate quality based on attractiveness NOT on getting into a gift giving sponsorship relationship with them.

Every year I get off the plane I see more % of fatties, and western dressed females than 10 years ago. Mind you, Sexy dress is important to me , so if Dnipro girls look like Kiev girls did 10 years ago (your own words) then I think Dnipro must be good. But I like the more dressed up made up DOLL Hollywood/Vegas showgirl type than the plain natural beauty type. So it is preference.

*For those of you who don't know..10 years ago Kiev girls MOSTLY dressed up. They often wore cocktail dresses and micro skirts with high boots during daytime. And when they sat on benches their stockings often showed..now that is HOT!

Kiev girls looked so bad 10 years ago that I wanted to leave and come to Prague instead. The amount of ugly, mediocre and impoverished girls with bad skin and bad teeth was beyond belief.Kiev started taking up in 2004 after the economy improved and hot girls from all over the Ukraine flocked for the increased opportunities.
In Dnipropetrovsk I discovered that the type of Kiev girl I met in 2003 came mainly from this region.
Donbass girls are heavily materialistic the difference is that in Mariupol they ask for super market expenses and in Dnipropetrovsk for clothes and cosmetics. In Donetsk which is the most developed ask for high life.
As an incident a girl in Dnipro took me to a shop in the first date and explained to me how much she liked a leather jacket.I asked her if I buy it you will come to my hotel to which she responded no,it is just that here in Dnipro every nice relationship starts with a present.
Another girl told me about how sad she was that her golden chain was stolen by some bad guy in the disco.

Well you might be right that teeth has improved since then but I find the girls to be better looking back then. Again I care for slim girls who dress sexy Not meaty girls who wear green pants and print shirts that is often today. So lets just say our tastes are different. Plus I would say teeth are still bad for the average girl.

Girls always came to Kiev for work or school, nothing new.

I agree with you about Donetsk girls though. I found them to be less attractive physically on average than Kiev girls, Dnipro girls, Poltava girls, and most of the other cities I have been to. The only place worst actually were the under 50k cities like Uman and Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky. But those cities they were less worldly.

Sevastopol had the WORST skin I saw in Ukraine. Maybe the sun who knows but almost every chick had acne.

In my opinion quite a few Ukrainian girls suffer from avitaminosis due to malnutrition which has effects on skin, lips, and teeth. They get very rough quality earthy like skin, decayed teeth and swollen lips. This was exaggerated 10 years ago the whole malnutrition situation combined with binge drinking.Girls after 25 years old were totally unpresentable.
Of course they were more skinny but the main reason was simply malnutrition.(they did not have enough money to buy food).

Would you advise on staying in Arkadia or is the center ok in the summer? The center has much more and cheaper apartments.

If you are looking to daygame center probably better plus you are more likely to find a wing. So centr is best maybe but realize Odessa is a city you might want to travel around if you want to meet girls from the other areas. I will explain below.
But If I remember True man is near Arcadia..north at Dolphin beach.

Thing about Odessa that I wrote on my list that many who have been to other large FSU cities don't realize is logistics of meeting fresh chicks.

Odessa is probably the only city that size that doesn't have a metro. Add in that it was originally a horse/carriage town with small streets and the new obsession with cars so traffic makes even trams and bus rides long and you have a city where picking location will actually affect who you meet or don't meet.

In Kiev I think it really doesn't matter since most women will during your stay make it to the main street either to work, study or party.

Unlike Kiev or Moscow where girls will every week travel to walk on the main street many in Odessa will stay away from the center. It is kind of like the ol BROOKLYN boys NEVER leaving Brooklyn. Most also don't work in the center thus little reason to travel there.

I believe this is mostly due to transportation logistics.

What that means is if you hang in the center you may never see most of the hotties from Suvorski district in the north. They have their own resort club area to party in...Luzanivka.

Girls in Kievsky district will either go to Riviera beach if they could afford it or may even head south to the small city of Illichirvsk. This city has a few clubs/pubs and is cheaper than Odessa so Odessans take the minibus and party there. Wednesday was one time good there.

If one is staying longer the logistics can be an advantage. You can try living in different parts

Dnipropetrovsk has a very charming center, a huge walking street where everyone congregate, a gorgeous renovated embankment with many riverfront or floating cafes and restaurants, really nice parks, ect. But what in fact is great in Dnipro is that all the places you want to go (best malls, restaurants, clubs, cafes, ect ect) are located in the center and within a few hundreds meters. If you have an apartment near say the Passage Mall, you can literally spend all your one-month stay without taking a taxi only once.

Dnipro is considered as "a smaller Kiev" in term of wealth (which is represented by the multitude of high-end malls in the center), and many Kiev oligarchs have moved to Dnipro simply because the quality of life is better.

And yes, Southeastern ukrainian women are the best. IMO the ratio of truly hot girls is higher in Dnipro (or Zaporojie for that matter) than in Kiev and the WGF (or let's say the Western trump card) is also definitely higher.

GK, just for reference, when was the last time that a girl simply liked you as person, and not because she saw some financial benefit to do so ? (if that ever happened)

What is great is that Podol is very close to the center (Kreshatik and Maidan are just behind the hill, at a 20 minutes walk or 10 minutes by funicular), but feels like a village. The main street of Podol (the one that goes from Kontraktova to Ploshtava, and most of its perpendicular streets) is literally full of cafes with summer terraces. It's highly enjoyable. For those who don't know, Podol is the oldest neighborhood of Kyiv and definitely the most enjoyable (in a city which is itself enjoyable). I usually stay in an apartment on Andrivskiy Descent, the "Montmartre of Kiev", one stone away to Bulgakov Museum, the Funicular, many interesting monastories, ect, and ten minutes walking to the river. Also what is also great is that Podol is the new "in" area, with many many trendy cafes filled with attactive and "good" girls, not the kind of sluts who stroll around Kreshatik. And you don't see your usual Kreshatik uncouth sex-tourist there.

It seems DNK could be the perfect 2nd tier place in ukraine. No sex tourist issue to overcome, which makes kiev annoying after a while, nice and walkable city centre - with a million people big enough that e.g. business could actually be a plausible and beliviable reason to stay there.( unlike most other provincial cities in southern UA e.g. nikolaev/kherson)

I assume it is a russian speaking city, which gives an advantage over lvov and whole western ukraine.

As good as in Kiev. And yes, there is a place busy on weekdays, Slivki, on K.Marx av, in the center.

Just negociated, for a 10 days stay before heading to Odessa, a very nice apartment right on the walking street and in front of Passage Mall (epicenter) for 400 UAH/day (25 €). It is on Airbnb at 45 €/day. As I said, Ukraine is currently a buyer market.

On Saturday night, the Arkadia strip was ok but not super busy. I have to wonder if Odessa was busier last year at this time.

My friend booked a train ticket from Kharkov to Odessa and got a ticket at the last minute. My friend told me that last year at this time, train tickets could be sold out weeks in advance.

Loved that walkway down the river (in the photo) and the neighborhood below (near the funicular). Seems like it's become a pretty interesting part of town so worth checking out for sure.

Reading this thread has pretty much made me decide to hit up Kiev in July. It's just too good a spot right now. From what Slubu was saying you can basically run night game almost every night of the week (unlike in Moscow) & the girls are as attractive as in Russia - possibly more attractive). And as Roosh was saying over in the Russia thread it's probably like 3x less the price now in Kiev versus Moscow. Those economics plus my desire to practice my Russian make it a 'must do' for me.

Moreover, even though I was only there a couple days t's funny but Kiev seemed to be such a nicer place than Moscow on the whole. Sure part of that is the fact it's a (much) smaller town but the center seemed cleaner, nicer, more pedestrian (at least before the riots). Not sure what it looks like now but the Ukrainian girls I'm chatting with are all saying Kiev is fine and even downtown is ok now - true?

Are Shooters and Putzata Hata still open??))

Not exactly but Kiev is still a better and much cheaper option then Moscow IMHO. Accommodation is your biggest savings. Vodka bar is still closed last I heard and Wednesday is ladies night at Shooters with the English groupies and working girls but realistically only Friday & Saturday nights will the crowds be in the clubs. Friends tell me tell me restaurants are really dead especially from the Sunday - Thursday but things could be picking up if some sense of political stability starts returning after the election now.

If it's your first time, I would recommend that you "like" some of clubs in Kiev on Facebook like Forsage, D'Lux, etc to get a better sense of the crowd, and how busy they are currently.

IMO it's not wise to hang around Kreshatik/Maidan after dark (especially if drunk). Not that it is inevitably "unsafe", but you might feel uneasy. As I said, there are still some sketchy and odd looking characters hanging around there.

When I was there in May there were "militia" walking around, i.e. random dudes wearing civilian or camo without any insignia but openly carrying firearms.
