Well first of all I must say that I'm a very spontanious guy, I rarely plan ahead and always prefer to kinda "go-with-the-flow." Amongst other things this has resulted in me being stranded in a bus in the middle of Manila, with a girl, not knowiung where we are, and not knowing where to sleep that night! (everything turned out fine tough, I can always make things work!)

With that being said, the decision to make that visit was completly my own. There was no pressure from her or anything like that. It just felt like something I wanted to do that moment.
I would describe her living conditions overall as "poor but happy." She lives in something you can best picture as "wooden hut" on a small dirt side street. The whole structure is ~30sqm with about 8 or 9 people living there! Just like you would imagine in the 3rd world. Both of her parents married and around which, in my eyes, is a very good sign.
Her father works as a bus conductor, he was friendly but distant. Her mom was warmer, but seemed a bit overwhelmed by my random appearence. Her siblings were much more approachable with everybody laughing and generally having a good time. One of them litterally uttered the words "welcome to the Philippines" to me while I was telling them a bit about me and where I was from. They seemed really happy to meet me.

Overall I must say that despite all the poverty these people have learned to enjoy life (very much unlike Europe!!) and try to make the very best out of every minute they have.
...and it rubs off to you. Being around a group like this inmediately cheers you up to the point that, even without any girl around, I would still 100% enjoy being in the Philippines.

It might not be perfect, but this county has just 'clicked' with me.

Have a nice day!

Leave the man alone, it's a good and entertaining data sheet. And the most important of all is that it actually focuses on visualizing the place instead of listing bangs, something that is often found lacking. I got more desire to visit Davao from this sheet than from reading an actual travel guide.

Hey RHR!!! What's up brother?

Good to read this trip report. Always nice to read a trip report from another traveler since everyone will have a different experience.

Too bad about the mall gaming experience, if your going back soon, I would challenge yourself and try a different tactic. Some other posts have good suggestions from other members. I am sure you can achieve some success by adopting a style that caters to your strengths!

With the walking issue, on one side I hear what your saying & on the other side I agree with Cr33pin about using JP Laurel ave. I did a few casual walks from Marco Polo to G Mall and it was fine having side walks. On the negative, there were some streets w/ no side walks and I found myself walking on the side of the road and close to traffic. In the end, no big deal.

I will be back in November! If your planning an additional trip around that time, let me know and we'll do drinks again!

Have a safe trip back in June and let me know how the 2nd trip turns out.

When somebody is basically accusing other people of lying as OP is(look at the title) and then spews a bunch of bullshit that like 90% of us that are actually here disagree with then there is only 1 kind of "right" attitude. The worst thing is how confident he seems in his bs statements.

Hey great to hear from ya!! Nice post! I completly agree with everything here, but I'd like to point out two things:

First, the area around Marco Polo, where you were staying, is the only really walkable place in this city. There are sidewalks, traffic lights, etc. Unfortunatly much of the rest of the city is not like that.

But more importantly, as you can see the people here seem to focus only on the one or two negative points I made about Davao, while completly IGNORING everything good I have to say:
-friendly people (much more than e.u.)
-awsome girls
-very save
-lots of great places to see
etc.
Some people here just have a negative attitude and they should just stay away from Davao. For everybody else (vast majority) please come VISIT DAVAO!! You're missing out!! ;D

Peace out.

I don't see the point in visiting the family of the girl. Of course, you got an experience, but what about the girl and the parents?

Are they that cool with the fact that her little daughter got banged by an American who disappeared shortly after? Or are you still in contact with the girl and plan to meet her again?

I have never been to the Philippines, therefore I am clearly not an expert on the local culture. So it would be nice to hear what the parents and the girls might have thought about your visit after the fact was established that you are not interested in a serious relationship with her.

Earlier in the thread I asked OP what would be the better choice: Davao or Dumaguete. I found the answer in the Ultimate Phils thread: A Duma data sheet by Scotian. Tons of 17-22 aged girls with no parent curfew to worry about and as most are from out of town, you don't have to worry about her nagging requests to meet her family-- a recipe for drama unless you are serious with her.

The 21 day visa was the rule when I was there the two times I traveled there. Maybe this has changed? Can the more veteran and experienced/frequent Phils traveling guys confirm that?

I've only been there once, during which I was subjected to the 50 million women there and their Male Racist Rape Culture's crude insatiable lust for white male flesh.

I asked the guy at immigration "How long are you allowed to stay?" and I remember he said 30 days, but don't trust my memory. The trauma was so horrible I don't remember well.

Just asking the guy who stamps your passport seems like a good idea, of course that's late for you to be planning flights and such. Not to derail thread, but Japan ran everything perfect, and the poor women looked absolutely miserable.

A nice surprise was the NO LINES AT ALL immigration in Japan, and they automatically give you 90 days even if you ask for just one as I did for a one day stay for a place connection. '

Not only was there no lines at immigration, there was an elderly GREETER gesturing me toward the unoccupied young man at the immigration booth.

I'm not sure if I should weigh in on the visa situation, since I'll be called a liar when it changes in a year [Image: tard.gif]

You get 30 days on arrival. Your first extension is 30 (or 29?) days.

After you've been there 59+ days (your second extension), you're eligible to extend 2 months at a time. But I'm still not sure whether you HAVE to get an ACR-I card to qualify.

The ACR-I card is basically an ID for non-citizens that digitally stores some of your vital information and allows you to register for a bank account and things of that nature. It costs $50 on top of your normal extension fees.

If you're in Davao, just go to the Fast Pass travel agency across from Victoria Mall (a few buildings down from immigrations) and they'll handle this all for you for $10 so you don't have to worry about it or wait around at immigrations. Also, I don't think you have to give fingerprints for the ACR-I if you go through an agency (I think you do if you go yourself).

The travel agency doesn't give a fuck what you wear as far as I know. I think you're talking about the immigrations office, which there's no reason to ever step foot in.

For people on a tourist visa getting an ACR card you do not have to give fingerprints.
If you are on a different visa like a retirement or permanent residence visa then you do have to give fingerprints to get an ACR card.

Obviously many of them will put out for the right guy, but I fail to see how that makes them a "full fledged slut"...? I've already pointed out that (DIA in particular) has it's share of semi-pros and scandalous women, but that does not represent the norm.

I won't rag on OP's data sheet - I enjoyed reading it. But one thing to remember is that these girls are not "special". They are women - take the pedestal out from under them. They're sweeter than we're used to of course, but under the right conditions - they can become everything that disappoints you.

All of them will become a full fledged slut for the right guy. Every single one of the girls on that site is looking for foreign dick.

I'm not talking about semi-pros and scandalous women.

I'm talking about family girls who have had 0 or 1 male partners and go to church every week. They are on the internet to look for Western cock.

Show me a pure conservative beauty who is a virgin, or has a low notch count, and the same girl will take it in the ass and let the right guy bust a nut on her face.

All girls will turn into a slut for the right guy. None of them are conservative if you're the right guy for them.

(Source: I have done this to actual "Good Girls" here.)

They are not special. I thought the same thing here until I got myself a good girl, put a boot in her ass when she gave me shit, and she showed all the stuff I taught her to the next guy.

I don't know Fisto or BB but they strike me as guys who could take any of the girls you just met and have them smiling after doing some shit to them that you only see in violent porn.

This is not a bad thing - they're just regular people. You are preparing yourself for disappointment if you think that these girls are above the laws of human behavior.

Hold up player. You're misunderstanding me. I'm not pedastalizing these girls by any means.

Speaking of BB, ask him about the time I was chatting with him on Skype as I kicked some crying girl out of my condo at 2am (and recorded the whole thing on my tablet) because I caught her browsing a dating site. (By the way, he's also one of the first guys on this forum to point out that not all women are sluts deserving of a good pump and dump)

On the other hand, check Fisto's comments on the nature of Cambodian girls.

It doesn't mean he's about to go and get married, but there is a definitive difference between the very conservative Asian girls and some chick rotating through 3 guys at a time.

They are down to please, so they will do whatever that means for you. But it doesn't mean that she's on her knees begging for your cum on the first night.

Davao is to Manila what a small town in the US bible belt is to NYC. It's not the same league. We're talking about a place where all drugs are highly illegal and bars stop serving alcohol at midnight.

You can tell how inexperienced these girls are in game, because it will be so obvious the ones who are trying to play you -- especially in comparison to the girls who aren't. I can't help but laugh at their texts sometimes. If they've been with another foreigner before, it's immediately obvious when you meet them in person.

This won't help people already in the phils, but if i remember you can save a few dollars by getting the extended visa in america before arriving in the phils. It also seems to be a lot less of a hassle to do in america.

I already responded to this, but just to make things clear:
I will keep a save distance from this chick while remaining in contact. I fundamentally do not assume evil from other human beings and that includes girls. But if things work out over the long term, I might stay with her.
That said, I will keep my options open and money is not going to flow in her way any time soon (not that she's asked for it!)

There is only one kind of right attitude? I don't agree with his post, and I've spent a lot of time in the philippines. I definitely disagree with the contentious nature of the title of the post, which is stirring the pot needlessly. Its enough to say you've a different experience than previous travelers and explain why - maybe give a basis for someone to inform you why your experience might have differed.

But I'm being called out for posting my opinion on someone else's reply by a poster telling me that his reply is the only type of appropriate reply? That my attitude is wrong because its different than his? How's that so different from the OP saying others are wrong, off or even lying because their reports differ from his experiences.

I guess my view of a forum is not uniformity, but an exchange of views - you're welcome to post in your own voice, and I'll continue to post in mine.
