Mitchell & Webb on game

Yes, it's a comedy sketch and I have no idea whether Mitchell and Webb are even aware of game. Like a lot of British comedy though, it's a stark meter of social commentary insofar as how he nailed the idea of 'negging' -- to the nth degree.

Would you agree that there's at least some basis towards game in this sketch -- perhaps if Robert Webb's librarian dialled down the arsehole tone?
Or that it's simply comedy?

Funny thing is I found it hard to empathise with the borrower throughout Webb's spiel. I barely even found it cringeworthy.

That was brilliant! Not sure that type of negging would work on 5s and under. I thought negs are reserved for girls with bitch shields and high self esteem 8s and up.

If you like Mitchell and Webb, please, please watch Peep Show. It's the best comedy in the past 15 years. Same guys. It is so amazing. And one of the main characters, Mark, is so horrible with women. Learning to do what he doesn't do will help your game more than reading 100 PUA books. Plus the writing in that show is amazing.

Again, watch Peep Show. You can find it on Netflix and Hulu.

Negs works in certain situations where a girl's really up herself and never get's called out on her shit (like the girl with the stoned as hell sister I number closed on saturday night JWLZG), but if I consciously neg someone just for the sake of it I find it usually backfires. Back-handed compliments are all well and good, but never "neg" a girl whose already attracted to you , it's cost me dearly many times. Just avoid it in general really, I actually don't know anyone into pickup who regularly uses them.

+1. I was just thinking about the episode with Mark's wedding the other day. One of the funniest shows ever.

He's the perfect "beta" character.

Also Big Suze and Nancy are WBs.

If only you knew how bad things really are.

Great Bit, not negs.

Negs are best thought of as
- neutral or backhanded compliments - Like the Federal Government with the Indians, they give it and take it away - it's meant to UNSETTLE HER
- teasing

In Woman-ese, it's called flirting.

Insulting a girl and then reeling her back in, or bringing her to a place of low and social emotional value and then lifting her back up is something manufactured by the Feminist Industrial Complex. Like men go out to purposefully verbally and emotionally abuse strange women, and somehow certain individual women are unable to resist horrible treatment, and we're mind-raping them before we fuck them.

In game terms, they used to refer to some of this as breaking state, or breaking rapport. Quick withdrawal of positives words, actions, and feelings to make a chick more pliable and compliant. Most often used during the last minutes of resistance.

Amongst players, you can use this kind of tactic with bravado, but soften it with a playground approach

Patrice O'Neal opener, "You look like the kind of girl who's breath stinks"
Chick - *SHOCK, HORROR, ANGER*
Patrice then follows, "Remember back in grade school, you'd punch the person in the arm if you liked them"
Chick - *amazed, flattered, interested, opened*

Yeah, Peep Show is great. Fresh Meat with Jack Whitehall, from the writers of Peep Show, is also really good.
