If you feel you are - then you are - just STOP

Every time I get that feeling that I am trying too hard with a girl, guess what? I am. Anytime I get a feeling I am doing anything too much with a girl, texting, talking, doesn't matter what then it's already too late because it means I am actually doing it. By the time you feel you are doing too much of anything, it's too late, you already are.

The only thing to do at that point is just to stop doing whatever you are doing too much of - literally, just STOP. It may seem weird to just stop talking, for example, but it is much worse to continue. The second thing NOT to do, is don't apologize for your behavior. That will only serve to acknowledge it and make it worse. Just STOP. Think of yourself as a car, before you can backup you have to stop the car first. Nothing will kill the interaction faster than acting too needy and nothing shows neediness more than trying too hard.

^ One of the most painful movie scenes ever.

Beyond All Seas

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe.
To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you'll be lonely often, and sometimes
frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." - Kipling

Yes. It's like hamstering yourself into a hole - oh, I'll exercise tomorrow. I'll just rest for a bit and then study Chinese.

Just stop. Forget about everything else. Now is the time to do it. Tomorow everything will change.

Totally agree 100% then you start getting annoyed, next thing you know her claws are underneath your skin. Time to eject, sometimes they'll wonder why you stopped talking to them, then the ball is in your court.
