I'm curious if the Internet Tycoons have had any luck with this format. It doesn't seem as easy to get into as blogging, which is a good thing. Adsense is integrated into the platform, so there is that option. But you have to have 30,000 subscribers to get any money from YouTube. Linking seems limited too.
I'm only asking because my own YouTube channel has taken off. I'm averaging 50 hits a day and whole lotta watch time because of the old movies I uploaded into my account. I'm assuming the ones I've put up are public domain, but I haven't had the time to do the research. YouTube hasn't slapped me yet for copyright infringement. Believe me, this traffic was totally unintentional. I'd uploaded some old films I wanted to watch at leisure. Suddenly, they're getting comments and people are subscribing to my channel.
I'm curious to what experience others have had.
