Your 2014 Goals: Where Are You After Q1?

Meant to make this thread a week ago but other business came up.

So I'll ask, when you set your goals for 2014, how are you doing after one quarter?

As for myself, I'm progressing along very well with my writing and reasonably well with my fitness, and I've also created the websites I wanted to create.

Where I've relatively lacked is in being more social. Of course we just had a brutal winter here but that shouldn't be an excuse.

So where do you guys currently stand?

Good thread.

I made the goal to, by the end of August, bench 225, squat 315 and deadlift 405. I'm well on track for that goal. I'd also like to get a bit leaner for the summer. I'm just starting that now. Prior, my focus was purely on gaining strength and mass. I'm shopping for a mountain bike right now and will use that for fitness.

I'm in grad school right now and this semester was successful. I just wrote an exam yesterday and presented a project. I feel that both went well. I have another research presentation on May 5th that will keep me focused between now and then.

Overall, I'm happy with the year so far.

So far 2014 has been decent. I've been reading a lot which is a big plus for me, made a small first investment, am safing money and living more frugal. Sportswise I'm not meeting expectations; I played some football, went running a few times and regular muscle training, but its just maintenance now, while my goal was at least 3 times a week strong physicial activities. The reason is mostly because at the moment I'm lacking training/sports partners. It's not the same to work out alone.

Girlswise, have about 9 notches so far. It's not bad and some real nice girls in there as well, but I want to step it up a bit. Most are one night stands though and
I feel that for the top top girls they require more investment which I find more difficult. Theoretically I'm learning a lot through this site and I can feel myself growing stronger.

Works still sucks and my health is not on top level. Challenges ahead, but the way to improve is clear.

One of my goals this years was to improve my text game. It was laughably bad.

I've been improving steadily and have seen some success already.
I have a long way to go but i'm far better than i was last year this time.

Only goal I made was to quit drinking, accomplished that easily. Smooth sailing now.

Your 2014 Goals: Where Are You After Q1?

Been working consistently on my wine blog since end of last year, it's great to know I can keep working on something for an extended period. Also been seeing some huge spikes in pageviews that i'm happy about, although I'm wondering if that's not due to crawling bots.

Also working on some things so that i may consult outside of work, kickstarting my 4HWW lifestyle, [Image: angel.gif]

Hard to balance that and working at a proper job, but just gotta keep at it.

Feel free to PM me for wine advice or other stuff

Congrats. I've been truly pondering that thought. I've greatly decreased the amount I consume but occasionally wake up with a hangover and feels like a wasted day. Being stuck in an 8-5 right now... I need my weekends more than ever and sitting around hungover doesn't help.

In the position now where I need to determine if I completely quit or an alternative. I've got Friday night volleyball leagues starting up, always nice having a cocktail after. Going to a show this weekend that has two drink minimum. Just seems hard to escape 100%

May I ask how old you are and what your drinking was like prior to quitting?

Sandman. I'm 31 and basically was a binge drinker, I would drink til I passed out every single time 2-4 days a week. I'm all or nothing, I could never just have a few. So basically I was drinking like that for a good 6+ years. I always wanted to cut down or quit but never seemed to take it serious enough so I never did. Now was the perfect time for me to start taking life seriously, so best thing I could have done was quit drinking..

My advice is set a date and just stop.

Also take a look and read through the 1 year on the wagon thread.. It's a goldmine of good info. I'd link it but I'm on my phone.

Just realized that I never set anything concrete to have completed for the first quarter. And I've just slowly been plodding through my daily routine.

A sit down plan session is required to find out what I want from the next 3 quarters of the year. Will post back with detail.
