I love how they were smart enough to clarify "women, and their advocates," since it is still illegal to charge anyone a different amount based upon gender or race.

Oh well, guess I might as well take advantage of the discount, even if it is used to promote a statistic that is used out of context for political gain.

For every dollar a man makes, a woman makes 70 cents
That doesn't make sense, that's not fair,
the man's only left with 30

For every dollar a man makes, 23 cents is spent on a woman.

So I guess they'll also kill quite a few random female customers in the name of equality. Because men are also far more likely to die on the job.

Today, the unmarried woman without children earns 117% compared to an unmarried male without children. That's even when education is controlled for, number of years in the workplace controlled for, when you have the major controls accounted for, women out earn men. It has been this way since the 70's.

Lets have a day where unmarried females have to pay 117% more than men.

Why just make it one day? They should live their mantra and do this everyday.

See how far that gets them.

I work roofing. It is rated as one of the most dangerous jobs in north america.

I would assume there is less then %1 of women partaking in this hard as fuck field.

This shit pisses me off. So much. Yes, out of high school, a girl who works at McDonalds will only make a fraction of what I make out of high school in roofing.

However, lets boil this down:

- I chose a job that has some of the highest mortality rates.

- It's hard as fuck on your body.

- It kills your back.

- Harming yourself isn't hard, I've broken bones, cut my flesh deep

- I've almost plummeted to my death more then I can count.

- Average days are 10 - 14 hours

- The sun beams down on you, and there are days where a bottle of water a half hour aren't uncommon

- I work winters, it fucking sucks

- I butt heads with many other rugged ass motherfuckers, but in the end we get along

- I have to deal with customers who think they know more about my job then I do, but if you're calm and reasoning, everything is just peachy

Now, lets look at her job:

- She is in an air conditioned facility

- She has to work normal hours (4, or 7.5-8 hours are typical)

- She has to occasionally deal with a shitty customer who she probably won't see again

- She gets breaks. In an air conditioned facility.

- Her job is straightforward and not physically challenging at all

- If mistakes are made, it doesn't cost her company thousands of dollars, she just grabs another burger and goes on with her day

I bring this up because, I feel like 10 an hour for her job, is warranted. The money I make, is also warranted. However, based on our employability, both of us simply are high school graduates, but I am making disproportionately more BEACUSE I WORK FUCKING HARDER. And that's what it is. Men take dangerous jobs that women don't take, and this gap grows. And damn right. When I start seeing women dominate these fields too, then fine, there is a conspiracy. But if you break it down, this gap is all choice. ALL CHOICE.

Now guys, I want you to understand, I love my job. I really do. It's exhilerating, and it's a super masculine field to work in. I like the guys I work with, I respect them, and they respect me. The dangers exist, but they make me enjoy it more, it's exciting. I love the feeling of testosterone flowing through my body after a 14 hour day, and just how generally powerful I feel. I like that I can tell my coworkers to fuck right off if they are fucking around, and I like that we can generally talk things out, like men.

I think this hits close because I've had women tell me, "Its not fair because I can't just do what you do." That's right, and that's why I deserve the money I'm getting. Hard work.

Women are way too far up their asses in DC apparently, to break out their stat books and figure this gender pay gap the fuck out.

As a man who has shattered his heel, I also know that your career has a much higher "shattered calcaneus" rate than most jobs - my friend who installed cable shattered his when I shattered mine.

Even avoiding the crazy crab-ship job rates, just installing high-speed Instagram is much more dangerous for men than women. But, "OMG, this cable dude is totally checking me out and freaking me out, OMG So sad he gets paid more than me for the same work. He is creepy!"

Comparing a chick a mcdonalds with a male roofer is comparing apples and oranges...

It would be better to compare a male and female mcdonald's employee.

Game is the difference between a broke average looking dude in a 2nd tier city turning bad bitch feminists into maids and fucktoys and a well to do lawyer with 50x the dough taking 3 dates to bang broads in philly.

I compared them because at an entry level both of us are making drastically different wages. Most women who don't go the college route opt for an entry level job, but its usually a low paying customer service/fast food job, whereas some men my she who did not choose the college route went into construction. I was using that to illustrate that choices made by men and women are different and account for why the 'wage gap' exists.

Simply, there is no systemized discrimination on North America, but it is a matter of choice between sexes that leads to this gap.

Dangerous jobs are consistently dominated by men, and lead to the most workplace deaths, but at an entry level they pay far more then customer service and fast food jobs; women usually stick to the customer service/fast food jobs - no woman is talking about the inequalities or lack of hire rates for these industries, but instead, wanting to get money and acknowledgement for imaginary hours they didn't work

Yes, but that is what these wage gap numbers do: compare people in different occupations, with different education, experience, etc. Everyone assumes that the numbers are normed for such things, so that we are talking about equal pay for equal work, but it is not true. When people talk about a $.23 wage gap, that is a raw number comparing the wages of all full-time employees.

Crazy, but true.
