Waking up faster in the morning?

In my opinion, alarm clocks are a huge contributing factor to stress and anxiety. I never use an alarm, I'm just generally conscious of needing to get out of bed in the morning. The pushups and cold showers first thing help, too. Going to bed earlier will help. Using technology past 9-10pm hurts your brain a lot, you're much better off reading or something

Has anybody tried using a wake-up light? It's supposed to simulate sunrise and prepare your body for waking up.

Don't laugh,

Drink a protein shake or drink a glass of whole milk before bed.

I can guarantee you that by the 6 or 7 am rolls around you will wake up with the urge to number 2.

Waking up faster in the morning?

I had a spy manual when I was a little kid, with tips for invisible ink (lemon juice) and other stupid stuff. But one piece of advice seemed to work, and I can remember it almost verbatim:
When you wake up, extend your arms and legs up into the air and hold for thirty seconds. This will make your entire body completely alert.

Edit: This also works on girls one is trying to activate, for eviction etc.

For me it always works out best if I adjust my sleeping cycle to wake up early (6am). Those days are my most productive.

I don't think light/darkness is playing a big factor. It's only what you are adapted to.
I live in a place where I can see the sun 21 hours a day in summer meanwhile in winter it's 21 hours of darkness.

Waking up faster in the morning?

God damn I hate getting up in the morning. I'm definitely not a morning person.

On an average day I literally set about 20 alarms on my phone and about 20 on my laptop (connected to loud speakers)

Quite a handful of times I've gotten out of bed, hit the snooze button on both systems, have gone back to bed for ten minutes, then have woken up again every ten minutes to repeat the cycle for the next two hours, like some sort of depraved madman

Many more times I've just turned the bloody things off all together until thirty minutes before I have to leave my apartment

But yeah, if you wanna wake up earlier: Beaming, glorious sunlight is the answer. That is the only thing that can wake me up

I've recently moved apartment. The Bangkok sun basically shines right on my fucking face in the morning now, and I've woken up before my alarm these past few days

Or put the air con on for the time you sleep MINUS one hour. (Then again, I did that in Taipei and it didn't work. I'd get out of bed at 10am. Would stick the air con back on. Would have a freezing cold shower. Would sit on my balcony for five minutes then would jump back into bed when it the room was cold enough to sleep again.)

Weird how the mind really wants you to get up early before bed, but wants the fucking opposite the second you wake up

Download an alarm clock app that wakes you up when you are at your most restless. I have one called SleepBot. You leave your phone on your bed, and set it like a normal alarm. You then pick a time frame when the app is allowed to wake you before the scheduled alarm. So if I set my alarm for 8 am, and give it an hour leeway, the app will wake me up with an alarm any time between 7 and 8 that I am tossing and turning or otherwise moving excessively. I don't use it all the time, but it does work, in my opinion.

Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.

Waking up faster in the morning?

First thing I do upon waking is go to the bathroom and splash cold water on my face. I read somewhere that it's more effective than multiple cups of coffee and it's always worked wonders for me. And it's not as uncomfortable as hopping into a cold shower, which may be too much of a challenge for a lot of people to force upon themselves while half-awake.

Also, I find Roosh's tip on visualizing yourself waking up to be pretty helpful. Do it just before you close your eyes to sleep, imagining the alarm going off and yourself bouncing right up and getting started with your morning routine.

Beyond All Seas

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe.
To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you'll be lonely often, and sometimes
frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." - Kipling

I think this can be habitualised away. Put your alarm somewhere far enough away that you have to stand up and walk over to turn it off. Maybe set a glass of water next to it to help refresh yourself.

Don't compromise on this for a few days in a row and your body will adjust to the new wake up time, and you will be in a better place (physically) when you wake up. Make sure you stick to the same time so your body can adjust towards a specific time over a few days.

I'm looking to do this myself as I have exams coming up. Have done it before successfully.

Waking up faster in the morning?

Okay so it's been a rough past few days. I've been getting out of bed faster but my schedule is still messed up. So I couldn't actually fall asleep last night until 730 am. Woke up at 11:15 am. This has happened the past two nights. I am going to fast tomorrow to fix my schedule.

Set your alarm to the loudest most annoying sound you can find. It will wake you up with a kick of adrenaline.

Alarms actually are not that great for your body. You want to start going to bed earlier until you are going to bed before 12 each night. Sleep with your blind up so when the sun rises you will naturally wake up. If you struggle to fall asleep at an earlier time download the mobile app white noise and play it near you for 20min when u go to bed.

Also if you do more in the day you will naturally want to sleep as you are tired. Listen to your body and go to sleep when you are tired, even if it is as early as 8pm.

Waking up faster in the morning?

1. Go to bed at a reasonable hour

2. Take zinc before bed. It's a natural muscle relaxant and has a bunch of other health benefits

3. Put your alarm clock out of reach so you have to actually get up to turn it off.

Waking up faster in the morning?

now that we are on a more technological side of a problem:

Use flux on your pc and a similar app on your phone. After sunset it kills the blue light that makes your sleep shitty.
I use an alarm called sleep as android, and they have a bunch of alarm tunes that have a natural sound and they play gradually louder which, in my opinion is much better than loudasfuck beeeeeeps at 7AM
I think that these two factors contribute towards a better sleep and also waking up better
