What Does The Weekend Mean To You?

I work a sizable sales territory, but I basically make my own schedule and do a large amount of work from home. Lately I've experimented with incorporating some work into the weekends, and I'm really liking it so far.

For example, instead of working 8-5 every weekday, I've been working (roughly) 8-3 each weekday and then I'll put in a few hours at the home office both Saturday and Sunday morning. I've found this provides several benefits:

-I'm able to get to the gym by 3 or 3:30 on weekdays, so I avoid the post-work crowd and can take my caffeine-loaded preworkout and still manage to be tired by 11 that night.

-I avoid almost all traffic, and I still have time to run by the library or grocery store after work.

-I don't get that burnt-out feeling of having just worked a long day and not wanting to do anything...I can be home by 3:30 (or 5 on a workout day) and still have five or six hours to read, run errands, go on a date, etc. before going to bed. I accomplish more in my off-time, whereas when I worked until 5, traffic might not get me to the gym until 5:30, then I wouldn't start dinner until 7, and by the time I'd cleaned up everything it would be 8, and then I'd practically have to start getting ready for bed.

-By not taking two whole days off, my work just...flows better. I always hated Monday mornings, because I'd generally have a bunch of to-dos left over from Friday that would sort of hit me all at once. Now, things are basically taken care of as soon as they pop up, I don't spend all weekend with them on the back of my mind.

-It's easier to turn down expensive nights out and weekend binge drinking. I was never big into either (especially the drinking), and having a reason to get up the next morning helps me keep my focus. I want to read more, build a healthy body, start a business/separate income stream, and get better at day game. Getting hammered with my buddies each Friday and Saturday night accomplishes none of that.

-It's easier to keep a personal schedule and circadian rhythm. I'm generally good about getting to bed and waking up on time during the week, but getting drunk and/or sleeping in on the weekends would always mess that up. Now, I'm up at the same time every single day, and it's easier to keep that going than try to restart every Monday.
