Why San Francisco is boring

SF is far from "expert-level" city. The reason is easy public transport and socially accepted public drunkness. Those two factors make it by my standard an "easy-level" city.

The hard part is maintaining the coin to go out. Budgeting where you go. How you spend. Thats the drawback.

Buy too many drinks at the bar one night+ expensive dinners+ cab rides+ clothes shopping- FML its 2 dollar frozen pizzas for a week diet. Believe me, it sucks.

If you can't get laid in SF at least 3/year, you need to leave your apt more and go out at night to a happening place w/at least 50% women. Things will flow.

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

Why San Francisco is boring

^ unfortunately I do not bang Asians. My pool declines 50% lol.

All jokes aside, SF has changed a lot over the last 2 years. To be honest I don't even go out hard anymore. I had a guy who knows this city very well (lived here for several years) and when we met up he said "everything you said is true the place is full of Indian engineers now".

Anyway I am calling it as I see it. If I go anywhere else in the world I would bet money I will get laid in 48 hours with a 7. In SF I wouldn't bet that because there are not many 7s.

I'm not bitching though, I know what I am doing and just operate as usual.

---

End of 2012/start of 2013 it started to suck.

In 2014 even my model good looking friend doesn't even go out anymore. He quit as well and we just travel with the money. ROI is better.

As he put it "why would I spend $100 a night when I can have a 6 jump on my cock when I land in NYC for free?"

Make your bank here, get those miles up to 250-300K from your high paying job and just travel around fucking better looking girls on the cheap.

---

In terms of "expert level" I honestly only put a few cities on that map now.

SF, Miami, DC (due to forum), Toronto (due to forum) Los Angeles, San Jose, Seattle

Anywhere else with a good bank account and it's going to be easier by a country mile.

If you can get laid in 48-72 hours upon arrival in the city it is obviously not hard becuase you don't even have the city on lock and you're running full on raw personality style and looks game right?

If I had to bet my life on getting laid in 48 hours none of those cities above would be listed.

WestCoast is spot on about the tide turning around the end of '12. I lived in San Jose and used to travel to SF to party often. One night something felt off and I realized that I might as well have stayed in San Jose because the vibes were becoming similar. The Phoenix hotel had a great bar/lounge. Always lots of slim foreign girls who had fun personalities, it was my go to spot for a while. Bruno's in the mission was great for banging East Bay girls. RIP SF you had a good run.

Why San Francisco is boring

I think SF is an amazing city and I have a blast.

That said, I enjoy outdoor things. I like to walk. I walked 10 miles on my first day back in the city and 15 miles the next day.

SF has lots of parks. You can drink and smoke weed at Dolores Park.

There are spectacular views of the city in the Twin Peaks area. Crissy Field is a great place to walk the dog, lounge around.

A year membership to SF MOMA is $90.

http://www.sfmoma.org/get_involved/membe...s_benefits

So I don't get the whole, "SF is boring" thing. Maybe to cultureless cretins who don't enjoy art and expansive, open spaces and some of the best dining in the world.

That said, the talent level has dropped precipitously in the past 3 years. It's a horrible place to meet attractive women. The rents are too damn high so the pretty girls are going elsewhere after college.

But as a city...It's amazing.

Here's a pic standing above Tank Hill at night. The pic doesn't do the view justice, but it was spectacular.

After 15 miles of trekking through the city, I went for the best deep dish pizza outside of Chicago - Little Star Pizza.

I've only spent one night in SF.

Went out with my buddy who lives there and my girl at the time.

The next morning I woke up and said "I think I only spent like $30 last night."

My girl laughed and said "You spent over $100 easily!"

I opened my wallet and sure as shit, she was right. Spent every dollar I took with me without even realizing it lol.

I chalk it up to a combination of SF being expensive, and me being fucking wasted.

Good times.

In the end, yes, it is an amazing city. In its own right.

And while I do agree with much of this, it's a matter of perspective I suppose. My experience has been different. I immigrated to the US when I was around twenty, between my parents and my brother, we had about $10k in savings we brought along with us. After a few harsh winters in Michigan, my folks were able to find jobs here in the Bay Area due to the Filipino connections (my non-Pinoy friends joke "The Filipino Mafia")

Granted that the Bay Area and San Francisco itself has a wealth of gorgeous sceneries (I love the rocky beaches of Pacifica), iconic architecture (the TransAm building being my favorite phallic symbol), incredible restaurants (has anyone ever tried a night of bellydancing at El Morocco?), and fascinating art (the murals at Coit Tower have always intrigued me), I must say however that apart from enjoying giving my visiting friends a grand tour of the Bay Area, I really do find it boring to live here.

The nightlife does not appeal to me in the same way it has in Europe or SEA. The women are much less friendly than what I've gotten used to, and in fact, it seems to be getting worse. Most attractive looking males (No Homo) that I see around here are be-husband to some atrocious terrestrial cetacean. I exaggerate of course, but there is a stark imbalance. A female 5 or 6 will typically have a male 8 or 9. Tell me I am not the only one who notices this...

The primary purpose the Bay Area has served for me is that of a home base since my parents have chosen to live here and so I must build my assets in the area in order to have the proximity to support them as they get older. I work hard, save my money, build my investments. I try to spread it across Real Estate, some form of physical business, paper assets and commodities. With what I set aside for fun, I choose to go elsewhere to play hard. Thanks to geo-arbitrage my dollars return more if I take them to Palawan than if I were to spend it on a night out in the city every weekend. And since I have associated this place with my struggles, it has gotten old.

But that's just me and the choices I made. To each their own... It's like the way I really enjoy San Diego, but my buddy who'd been stationed at a Naval Base there for four years disdains it as he'd associated it with his work. He can't go to the place and not think of the bad experiences over at his undisciplined squadron.

SF and the bay would be great if it wasn't for the people. It attracts socially inept tech nerds and leftists which turns it into an "over" area: overregulated, overpriced, overrated. These types will pay 2K+/mo for an apartment in the mission (remember when it was not a place you wanted to live?) and complain about gentrification. You'll see lists left and right about why SF is better than LA, but none that are vice versa. This is a perfect representation of the people it attracts. They always have something to prove and have to raise a stink while they do it. They think they have the patent on fun, but are the most conformist bunch you'll see.

Like others have mentioned SF has changed a TON in just the last 2-3 years. As recently as 2010 you could get a 1bd in a good part of the Mission for 1.5k a month, now the same shit costs 2.7k plus.

There always were some tech nerds in the City but the proliferation of Google etc buses just swamped the entire fucking city, which got compounded by the City attracting tech companies to open HQ in the city itself like Twitter. The City's vibe has gotten all fucked up. It's a one pony time and doesn't have that bohemian west coast vibe anymore. It feels like some east coast island with pretentious tech fucks who only care about money and purported prestige of spending 12 hours a day coding shit at Google.

So in the span of 2-3 years you literally got tens of thousands of tech nerds invading the city, driving up prices insanely and worse IMHO completely destroying the nightlife. It never was NYC, but at least before the ratios were okay. SF is not even worth going out anymore. The place is a massive tech cock festival. You might as well go party in Bangalore or something.

It's hard to believe though that those dudes are much competition in the field. I can't really even see them going out much at night. A bunch of IRTs and Mark Zuckerberg wannabes?

Planning a trip there in May with my girl. Sounds like the way to do SF... split the costs and not worry about nightlife or girls or nerds. Just good restaurants, wine and beautiful scenery.

West coast nails it when he says it's like playing a video game on advanced mode. Anyone who disagrees either doesn't live here now, or is ok with banging the less than top-notch girls. If you do only one thing here, I would walk/bike across the golden gate bridge - it's simply one of the man-made wonders of the modern world.

SF has everything.

High end, low end, and everything in between. Billionaires on the top floor and crackheads in the lobby.

I think the biggest key is...

You better know where you are going!

You better have inside information from locals who can point you in the right direction. Otherwise, you will likely get caught up in all the usual tourists traps with the newbies and out of state transplants who come here to act like idiots.

"FISHBOWL" Selection is everything.

It's imperative that you find the scene that fits you best. The crowd that best fits you. Social-Demographics can change from one block to the next! Expectations and Beliefs can be worlds apart even across the street.

Information is King in this City.

You better know where you are going!

If your game is weak, you have no chance!

@Giovanny. You're right on the social scene. It's true, you have to find your social scene here in the Bay Area in order to like it. but come on, you can't deny that SF is going to the shits. SF is not the same place as it use to be. It's too expensive and there's too many regulations that KILL all fun.

Girls/game aside, I love visiting SF. I make no claims about living there, but the vibe, the natural beauty, the history, the quality of the sunlight, the architecture of the city...I simply love it. The Bay Area is epicenter for the computer revolution...and sure it's full of IRT's now maybe, but that garage-inventor thing still romantically and naively resonates with me.

Honestly, I am not qualified to state an opinion on this..

I pretty much only game girls at college/university campuses and high end shopping areas.

I pretty much only date college girls.

I have not gone out at night in over 15 years.

I bought a 1 bedroom condo in 2009 at the bottom of the market.

My perspective is better then the "average" guy's perspective.

A 19yo from SF State just left my house to go to class.

I can't complain.

I admit, the female talent in SF is not very good.

LA, NY, Miami, etc. all have much hotter women.

That's why I stick to college/university. Younger and hotter girls.

I am happy about the fact that we have attracted Google, Twitter, etc.

I like to be surrounded by rich people. More opportunities for me and hotter women.

Plus, most of the rich guys have bad game.

Real estate is ridiculously expensive but that's good for me, I bought 5 years ago.

People complain about the cost of living but I do not.

girls aside, the Bay Area is too expensive to live in good locations (in SF, Marin County, parts of the East Bay, etc). I currently live near Napa and for me to go out to SF for nightlife (because lets face it, the North Bay is boring as fuck), you already how much I will have to pay in gas, toll fees, parking (sometimes I get lucky in this regard as I can sometimes find free parking). Now, if you got lucky that you live in SF, then you hit the lotto. if you're like me who is in the suburbs, then fuck, you might already know it can bore the fuck out of someone.

I also like that there is all these tech companies here as well, and it especially hit it well during the 1990s (it's why my parents decided to settle here during the 1990s). however, it hit bad for me as youngster because of logistics and a crappy economy (it's a bitch to find a job, took me almost 3 months to find the current job I have, and this is gaming around for jobs).

bars close at 2am, shitty public transportation to the burbs (I have drank and drive once and I don't ever want to do it again), tobacco smoking laws are annoying the fuck out of me since I smoke tobacco (weed doesn't like and i don't like weed). the other thing is 21 and up drinking law but this is for USA in general, but I will set this aside since I am mostly talking about the Bay Area.

I think SF is a pretty good place to live if you have money. If you're not making 6 figures, quality of life drops off quickly.

It never gets to cold in SF. The worst of winter is like an October day on the east coast.

It's 7 miles by 7 miles. Very condensed. You can walk everywhere, unlike cities like Los Angeles. As you walk, the neighborhoods change into different cities every few blocks. A lot of variety.

Day gaming is pretty good given the density of the city and lack of true winter.

I think the girls look pretty good, though not the best. Probably not as good as NYC or LA, but better than the typical fatties in the mid west and secondary east coast cities.

Yeah it has its down sides. Homeless crack heads. Human fecal matter on the street and the ubiquitous stench of human urine. I guess there's crazy libs in SF too, but not anything like Berkeley or Oakland. Many SF people call themselves liberals, but they are most concerned with making coin, and in reality are capitalists.

Take care of those titties for me.

5 years ago. I almost moved to Arizona. It's much cheaper and the girls are much better.

Then, I got lucky...

The real estate market crashed. The world economy tanked.

I found a cheap condo in foreclosure.

One of the smartest things I ever did.

If that did not happen, I would be in Arizona right now.

You might think about moving a better place..?

Seriously, why not?

Fuck, I know its tough!!!
