Yeah, the majority of the girls are between the 18-22 age group and the vast majority are from Canada though I did meet a couple of girls from Mexico and the U.S. In my program there were a few older girls though they were married or had kids. Overall the average I`d give is about a 5 but the good thing is that more than half of the program are girls, so you've got some decent options. I was impressed by the local talent in Quebec which seemed better than the program on average, but youll need to put a bit more effort in. I did this same kind of program but at a special language school in France. I was eventually able to understand everything the teachers spoke. I also lived with a host family, which probably makes you learn twice as well.

My french improved significantly, but its been over a year now and I'm always on the look out for short-term immersion programs to stay refreshed with my french.

Too bad I'm no longer a student but Quebec has been on my radar for its immersion programs for quite some time.

I don't know why I didn't comment on this thread before but I did this program back in 2001 at l'Universite de Montreal when I was fresh out of high school and it was one of the best summers of my life, it was the first time that I went to Montreal and I had such an amazing summer there. I remember when my father drove me there from the east coast, it was the first time that I visited the province after becoming fluent in French by living in France the previous year. Our first stop in Quebec was at a rural service station and I struck up a conversation with the lady working there and I could barely understand a word she spoke, the accent and idioms were so strange! I eventually got used to how the Quebecois speak but have had a few awkward moments, such as the time I asked a woman "est-ce que tu as des gosses?" which in France means "do you have kids?" but in Quebec means "do you have balls (testicles)?".

It was a fun time and a great introduction to the city which still remains one of my most favourite in the world and after living in Sherbrooke, Qc for a few months back in 2005, I've been thinking of moving back one day, as I really like Quebec and the culture there. As far as game goes, it really is a gold mine although I only hooked up with one girl while on the course, I think there were about 600 students from all over Canada taking it and we all lived in the same dorm residence. Some of the parties were intense and of course, being Montreal, we had some wild nights on the town as well. If you really want to learn or improve your French, I'd recommend going elsewhere in the province as the Montrealers are on average very bilingual people and as soon as they hear your accented French, they will switch to their nearly flawless English.

There was this French romance comedy short tv series from Quebec that used to air on Tv5 Monde, but I don't recall it's name.
Man, the chicks on it were hot as fuck, but tough to get too, but I would attribute that to the men on that program, no real talent or game was there.

I didn't go this past year I missed the deadline, i am applying this year though. So is Quebec the go to place or what are people's experiences in other cities?

Anyone here ever been to Sherbrooke? or Trois-Rivieres for this program. If I apply these would be my second option probably- after Quebec City. I just think the fact its a larger urban centre (150k) would make it better on the weekends, I wouldnt only want to do program activities. Im not sure Id be happy in a small place like Trois-Pistoles (4k), although Abnormal mentioned you would meet everyone in the program intimately. I also feel that interacting less with all the Anglophones may be beneficial to actually learning the language, as in meeting more locals. Any thoughts?

Quebec as a whole one of the best places to game in the world no doubt, beautiful women who are DTF, very confortable living, good, very young night scene, why go to EE when you can game here? ;-)

How would you compare the women from Quebec City from say the Eastern Townships? Would you recommend Sherbrooke or Saguenay as a second option. Looking mainly in terms of nightlife options, quality of women, and outdoorsy things to do/historical and cultural sites to see

Saguenay all the way, more women (there is a myth that say there is 10 women for one man, but in reality there are more women because of some anomaly in the genes), you will find IMO more slim typical Nouvelle France Quebec women.

Sherbrooke the women will look more like Montreal and come mostly to study from everywhere in Quebec, Sherbrooke has an OK nightlife, but it's really small city a lot of student leave the city on weekends, the city also has no soul.

Advantage Sherbrooke for it being close to Montreal and less cold in the winter and more hot in the summer.

Saguenay you are far from everything be prepared small mentality also Sherbrooke more cosmopolitain.

Saguenay guys are tough, they sell big beers 710 ML in bars, there are often fights.

In conclusions I would say if you have game, good game, able to game in the day and text because nowadays nightlife is getting shittier by the year, I would go with Saguenay, some guy with some A game could go on a severe rampage down there, the women there are more DTF IMO than anywhere else.

If you don't want to feel to far from another major hub I would chose Sherbrooke because you can always game in Montreal on the weekends.

You can PM if you have questions about Quebec scene I know everything about QC CITY and MTL and some things about the small towns.

Also, to respond to your other question, the most beautiful girls in QC are in QC CITY, no doubt, but since it's smaller than MTL and can have a clicky mentality, I still prefer Montreal, which is in my book top 5 World city for game.

Concerning which city has more culture, it depends what month you would go and what you like in life and also, if you prefer mid size cities to big cities, Montreal being a 4million plus metropolis who has in size the feel of Melbourne, Barcelona or San Francisco without Oakland.

What if you are an American resident and going to university in America but you are a Canadian citizen? (im a dual citizen(father was born in canada)) would you still be able to qualify for the bursary?

I noticed that the public Québec universities have French-immersion programs outside of EXPLORE. I imagine those wouldn't be too bad either aside from the cost ($1500-$3000 depending on the program length and non-tuition stuff).

Edit: I notice that Chicoutimi's is much more expensive than some other schools. It seems that each school sets its own prices.
