Finally after some subtle cat and mouse, I have procured the date after that reverse text messaging mind voodoo.

I have a date coming over this week and I plan to make a meal for her.
However, I usually adhere to a very strict diet so i am trying to think what would be a good meal to make.
She is Somalian and I want to impress so I can hopefully get my leg over (for her wasting my time for all these months!).

What do you guys suggest I make?

Bear in mind, I don't eat dairy products, sugar, wheat, yeast nor eggs. Excluding those from any sauces or recipes, do you have any other recommendations you can make?

All suggestions would be most appreciated.

Do you not eat these things because of culture or religion or are you alergic? Unless it's a real serious reason bend the rules this time, just make something you think she will like as the dinner isn't about you. The effort counts more than the actual outcome (though you certainly don't want to cook something that tastes horrible)

Allergic. But not swell up and clawing at the throat allergic but more of a sluggish feel allergic.
Hmm, let me think, I might go out and get some goat and do some curried goat..or maybe rice and peas? I haven't done that in moons..

I was thinking of getting a teddy bear to stash on my bed but she might think I'm some kind of pussy or something...

Smoked salmon and mango salad..

Get some good smoked salmon/trout and do a mango salad with it..

1 mango, not too ripe
1 avocado
about 150 gr good small tomatoes..

'Looks great taste great and chicks love it...

Salmon needs no preparation..


Chop mango, avocodo and slice tomatoes in half arranged tastefully and perhaps squeze some lime juice on it and arrange with some black sesamy seeds on top...

Serve a nice not too dry or too sweet wine...preferably a australien white wine along with the meal.. make sure to have more of that


dessert a very small portion of some great icecream preferably italian with some nice topping like walnut roasted in almond sirup will be great..can also be blended frozen berries with some powder sugar in it.. or passion fruit.. depending on the flavour ice.. remember a small portion it needs to be great and be too small for the appetite the great things about desserts is to stop while its great

Try to arrange it in the kitchen and make it look as tastefull as possible, think about presentation.. the visual is important to rise above the mediocre.. a little piece of fresh mynte or a few berries decorated on the ice, will make it killer..

some really great chocolate cake or similar with CREME FRAICHE is also dynamite.... buy some from a great place and remember... small pieces..

She will love you long time

You make a very valid point. I am giving way too much power to this one person. I thought about it last night. I am going to purchase some red wine and we'll see.

Here are some updates as to my dinner date:

She came over (not flaking on the date as before), my dinner creation was successful (curry chicken and rice and peas) and we watched tv (I have basic cable). She sat on one end of my sofa and I told her to come over and sit closer (I had to put some American inflection on the tone I was using to convey authority).

She sat next to me and I held her body for a bit. I then 'ordered' her to give me a kiss (which she conceded to do) and we kissed for a bit but I still seemed to be doing all the work.

I didn't feel the vibe to try and get her keks (pants) off so in this sense, CJ was right (I didn't get to fcuk).

However, I will invite her over for another date and this time I am going for the dunk. My theory is that, she is either very shy or it is very taboo for her culture to be seen with my kind in public.

However, I have limited patience for farting about with pillow talk and meaningless text messaging.

If I go for the tunnu on the next round and she opts out, then I will leave the ball in her court and seek out fresh meat.

Okay, after playing the BS text game for a bit (she never picks her calls) and a bit of an AWOL on her side, the Somalian lassie finally texted me back and told me she got back with her man and hopefully we can still be friends.

In retrospective, I think I should have gone for the kill as soon as she got into my house and I feel some regrets.
