Health/Energy/Lifestyle: McQueen and Promoting

I worked as a professional cocktail bartender for a year. Became quiet good at it, even if my working-flair could use some TLC. In any case, I read this article by McQueen:
http://blockedurl.com/2014/01/15/how-to-...-promoter/
And started getting nostalgic about the chit-chat, happy faces and excessive drinking.
At 27, I really don't feel energetic like that anymore. I wonder if the girls were hot enough, that would change. Maybe. I am also in research, so my brain needs to work. No good being hungover for days at a time.
Nonetheless, this could be a side gig that yielded serious returns.

I don't think its a "side gig". Its a real job and takes real work if you want to advance whatsoever. Seems pretty cut throat at the top and you have to stay on your shit. Most of the lower level crap is really crappy and I don't know how many sub-promoters I've dealt with over the years, at the lower end it seems like a lot of hustling and huge turnover. Most of the hosts I've used over the years have been "frat bro" types.
That being said, I've always dreamed of being a casino host for whales. I've had relatives that had pretty good hosts over the years.

If you want it to be a side gig than it's possible, but...
-What is your social circle like now?
-Are you in at all with your local club scene?

Thanks for weighing in, McQueen.
When you say "like", how do you mean? If you mean "do I know anyone at the center where the action is", I know one or two, but those are not friendships I've cultivated very much. I am fairly positive I could hit up an old study-buddy who's been quite seriously into modelling (which, as you probably know, generally takes to make girls less cool and interesting, but she's cool enough on her own accord that hanging out with her would not be masochistic).
I'm not in with the club scene. I haven't been to a club for years, really. I'm with the cocktail bar scene. Don't know if that's worth anything except for scoring nice drinks for me and my dates on the cheap.

What city are you in? I can give you more info if I know what you're working with.
(Feel free to PM me so your biz isn't out there)
