RVF: Meet the Atheist-Plus Forum.

I want to do an ROK post about them, but I would like your input.

Let's take a minute to review their Introductory Thread. Specifically, look at the "Arguments to Avoid" thread.

Quote:Quote:

"Privilege is the atheist version of original sin."

I have downed atheists on this forum before and will continue to do so until I beat it into your skulls that inappropriate thought patterns (here, needless amounts of moral judgmentalism) are personality disorders. Accusations of, say, racism matter only insofar as you identify behaviors or policies unfairly impact a given race. Framing it as a moral failing only furthers the puritanism of America and does nothing to ameliorate the situation from any vantage point. It exists to shore up the self-perception of moral superiority of the declarant.

As for the quote above, it is true. These sorts of highly-politicized atheist movements carry the worst traits of American psychology and -- obviously -- are completely unaware of that. These sorts of people would say, "OMG, America is so judgmental!" They don't realize that they are in the same psychological bubble and play the same song and dance that only those Others -- white men & Republicans -- do.

Further, they create false moral binaries where there only exist the good ones and the bad ones. You are either, "Like, OMG, an ally to the GLBTZPV movement!," or, "OMG, you homophobic misogynistic asswipe who probably loves rape!" There are no grey areas or ambiguity for these kind of liberals.

Going forward, it is painfully obvious that they know feminism is rotten at its core, as they spend most time countering arguments against in their introductory message. It shouldn't surprise you that the modern liberal movement -- absolutely soaked in narcissism -- would defend the most self-absorbed ideology that they have in their back pocket.

However, check out this revealing quote:

Quote:Quote:

"Slavery was a long time ago."

They claim that slavery ended in the mid-1900's, due to debt peonage and sunset laws.

This is an important point to understand their narcissism. The past, to a narcissist, is 100% open to revisionism in order to fit their current needs and wants. In 50 years, they will claim that slavery really didn't end until a black man got elected. Or something. They *will* convince themselves that whatever they have been told to oppose only recently ended within their parent's lifetime. They don't understand history nor care to read about it. On one hand, they probably don't have the ability to to read/understand anything before 1980. Sorry progressives, but in your dogged pursuit of "equality of education for all" has directly to the lowest-common denominator of public schooling.

One the other hand, notice the building of bridges between their own psychology and politics. They -- themselves -- had shitty parents like most children in America. That existential angst that they carry for the rest of their life has to find an outlet. Since they consider themselves progressives and their social/economic approaches are superior to the knuckle-dragging conservative, they have to use global warming, defense spending and the whole constellations of 'isms & 'phobias to express their anxiety that our society has no future. Usually the predictions of the death of America/the Earth track the self-perceived longevity of the speaker. Al Gore is pretty old, so he thinks the Earth will be dead around the time of his own estimations of his own death. Younger liberals give the Earth more time simply they have more time to live.

All right, time for me to splain something to all you ladies.

I'm a cis-gendered, heterosexual, wealthy, well educated, able bodied, white man [DELETE ONE SO I CAN CLAIM NOT TO BE PRIVILEGED, PROBABLY WEALTHY, BECAUSE NO ONE ADMITS TO BEING RICH, PLUS MY PARENTS MADE ME GET AN INTERNSHIP IN COLLEGE. THAT TOTALLY COUNTS AS BEING POOR]. Because I'm an atheist, I can tell you that none of those things matter; all that matters is that I'm smarter and more rational than you because I don't see any of the problems you're complaining about.

Now, I've only been a member here for a day, and I've only been lurking for two, but I'm absolutely certain that you're all in a flutter over nothing, and you need to calm down and not be so mad all the time. Also, stop shouting at strangers. You're scaring away the men! Without men, your movement (so cute! You think it's a movement!) will founder. Have you ever stopped to consider that the reason you're having so much trouble finding a man is because you're yelling all the time?

Now I'm going to tell you about some of the troubles I'm facing so you know that you're silly for complaining about the things you're complaining about. Also, I'm going to be dismissive of everything you've said. Also, I think I won't bother to read the rules or half the posts. Because I read something somewhere else by someone who doesn't come here, therefore I know everything I need to.[SMUG SMILE]

Let's keep working through their narcissism:

Quote:Quote:

So, now, when I walk into a room full of white people, or have conversations and interactions with individual white people, or monitor my own actions and words, I've got a working frame for analysis. And I have learned to see absences: all-white gatherings now look all-white to me; in short, I have learned to see whiteness. Learning to see is the first step towards confronting privilege. Depending on our own positions, some things are easier for us to see than others. Whiteness was easy for me, for a variety of reasons. Class was harder, also for a variety of reasons, and I needed to work very hard to rid myself of the idea that an upper-middle-class perspective was "natural." The advice that I'd give, if you're in the initial stages of discovering privilege, is to work hard to make your personal perspective only one among many possible perspectives and to become fluent in the perspectives of people who are not like you. Only then can you really see the power structures that are in play.

When I say that people don't want to change, this is an aspect of this. In this person's mind, racism is only a problem not because it unfairly hurts people because of their immutable traits (race) but simply that because self-perceived groups in power have an ambiguous (thus, subjective) amount of power.

This person is distancing themselves from real human interactions and taking a 3rd-person, bird's-eye view of their own life. When people consider life some sort of movie, you know they have issues. What this person is doing is using politics to justify their psychological issues (narcissism). They claim they are bettering themselves, but what they are doing is distancing themselves from others, judging them for perceived moral failings and using liberalism as a defense against admitting they hate themselves and project that out onto everybody else.

Poster's thoughts:

Quote:Quote:

"Did you hear about the DREAM Act? [speaker stopped listening, went 3rd party and assumed this person was going to say something "racist"]

Another gem:

Quote:Quote:

Wow. There really are lots of people out there who believe that it's an objective fact that men are smarter than women.

Another revealing quote:

Quote:Quote:

But to all intents and purposes, the fact that I cannot leave the house without being harrassed at some point before I return is enough to validate Schroedinger's Rapist to me. And why your calculations mean nothing.

Interesting, with this whole "Schroedinger's Rapist" thing, women are admitting they are socialized to fear men.

One of the main problems with the Sexual Revolution and feminism is that it should have forced women to see men as human beings. The fiction that women are simply emotionally weaker than men was destroyed in the Sexual Revolution, but the concurrent social dogma that all men are beasts needed to die, too if women were to see men as humans.

For for the detractors of the previous paragraph, women are more socialized to be narcissistic in the modern age. Couple that with our social obsession with seeing submissive partners as pathetic furthers that. We shouldn't be in the business of denigrating women who are submissive. We can't undo the Sexual Revolution at this point, so we should focus on ending the idiocy that all men are violent dogs.

Back on point, the fiction that all men are beasts consoled women when they thought of their social exploitation. This isn't a feminist observation, but one based out of a society that only values that which can be monetized. Motherhood and wifehood were put on a pedestal by men and this allowed society to exist. Women's perceived moral superiority and being called "domestic goddesses" perpetuated past relations between men and women.

Before I ramble some more, my view is that as long as women are prioritizing their children and their husband, I don't give a shit what they do. Part-time gigs, volunteering or full-time work when their kids are grown is fine. As long as women make sure that their duties to their kids and -- secondarily -- to the husband take precedence over everything else, it's all good.

Let me close this out:

Quote:Quote:

Then there are the hardened oppressors. Those who feel that a woman's place is in the home making dinner and babies, or that they should have unfettered access to boobs and butts to grope, and of course the actual rapists. (There are of course also the bigots, homophobes, greed mongers, etc but I'm sticking with sexism for now as I am more familiar with it.) Frankly I really don't care about hurting any of these guys feelings and I don't see any tactical or strategic disadvantages to doing so. In fact enraging them gets them to show their true colors and makes the case for social justice all the more obvious. These people are rightly concerned that they will become more and more marginalized. As society becomes less tolerant of oppression the oppressors will become oppressed. Tough shit. They have the choice to stop being oppressors

Those actions complained of have nothing to do to with privilege and everything to do with either A) people who are worried about the children (some anti-feminists) and B) people who don't give a shit about others.

Look, if you feel the need to constantly cruise websites that enrage you, let me suggest something: You need to become aware of about what you spend your free time on. The fact that so many of these types spend their time reading "hate-speech" suggests that they either need people hating them to exist or that they agree, at least partially, with what they are reading, but can't admit that because they know that would render them the Other.

Finally:

Quote:Quote:

Wowbagger@LousyCanuck: Here’s a novel thought: try contemplating the idea that there are people who aren’t you. No, really. Take your time. Once you’ve managed that and pondered the implications, maybe you’ll be able to grasp what’s going on here.

Identifying your privilege does nothing. At all. All it does it speak to how the person in your life that matters at the expense of all else is yourself.

This above comment seems to think that privilege is what causes this and not narcissism. To admit the problem is to admit the cure and these sorts of self-aggrandizing asswipes can't handle it. I have fought them on comment sections, on Facebook and everywhere. The one mode of analysis that enrages them the most is the narcissistic analysis, as they have fully convinced themselves they are better than everybody else and have transcended the issues of America. Yet, by my analysis, they haven't.

These sorts of people travel to the edge of the box, press their hands against the walls and dream of the world beyond the confines of the box. The fantasy world they create -- of the past, present and future -- is nothing more than narcissistic self-delusion.

Haha 2Wycked you're late to the party, these guys reached the peak of their retardedness about two years ago. Their meltdowns are truly something to behold, which should come as no surprise when everyone's a special snowflake on a hair trigger.

This shouldn't even need any context...

"Blue-Pill Betas" does A+ a great disservice. These guys are some of the most profoundly damaged people in our society. They do make for good trolling though...

EDIT:

One of many videos that destroys A+
