(hopefully it lets you read this article if you're outside the UK)

I'm not a huge fan of the French as a whole.. but they do get some things very right.
I spend a lot of time in Paris, and i've never seen any women under 40 come close to being 'large'. Hadn't really thought about it much before, but this makes sense. For a western country, it probably has the best culture to deter women from getting fat.

There used to be envious articles about "the French paradox", or how the French love dining on rich foods yet remain slim. Now we get this garbage: "Isabelle likes being overweight in a society that is so obsessed with thinness and conformity." The BBC actively promoting fat acceptance is a bad sign.

Dr Johnson rumbles with the RawGod. And lives to regret it.

French attitude to fatties = C'est Magnifique!

I know a French guy who thinks that America is amazing because our poor people are fat whereas poor people in most of the rest of the world are starving.

"We have fallen for a silhouette of supposed perfection that is unattainable"

Fat people are so deluded they don't even see the irony in this statement. She is fat in a country of women that are mostly thin and have the "silhouette of supposed perfection". Hey fatass, YOU are the odd man out.
