This word gets thrown out a lot...I've noticed people use it even when they're the one being a prick/lazy to simply describe someone calling them out on their behavior. The word basically means nothing. I've also noticed people only describe people as douchebag's in real life settings if the person they are describing is not around.

The reason I brought this up is I was reading a reddit forum to help me with computer trouble and as I was reading through the comments people were constantly calling each other douches.

I've been in Europe for a while, amongst a lot of different nationalities, and haven't heard the word almost at all, unlike in the states, where everyone is calling everyone a douche for just about anything.

I've also noticed American girls use it a lot to talk about guys they're attracted to. Some kind of weird hamster conflict going on there.

I think the word is so overused to have lost its sting. I'd be curious to hear others random thoughts. Only douchebags may reply. Hehe

While learning game and picking up girls in the U.S. I have been called a douche multiple times. The funniest part is a lot of the time the girl who calls me a douche ends up fucking me.

I think it's a fine line you have to walk of being a douche but not too much of a douche and if a girl calls you one just own it like a boss and be proud of it. She'll probably want you more. Don't get me wrong there have been times when it back fired and I didn't get the lay but fortune definitely favors the bold.

Douche + smile = attraction.

Douche + frown/cross face = no attraction.

A girl will call you a douche if you won't give in to her demands or if you call her out on her bullshit or inappropriate behavior. It's a passive-aggressive attempt to turn other women off to you and push you out of the social circle. And yes don't be surprised if she's attracted to you. Love and hate are opposite sides of the same coin.

If you get called a douche to your face just step up and tell her to go fuck herself. Don't back down. It's like prison rules [Image: lol.gif]

If you hear it through the grapevine the right tactic is diplomacy. Compliment her to your common friends. Kill her with kindness. When people are put in a position to choose between two friends they'll choose the nicer one and write her off as being a bitch. Everyone will defend you and the whole thing will blow up in her face. Never fails.

Good insights Parlay. Seeing as I will be enjoying the company of a girl from Moravia later tonight and not some Americunt I won't have to worry as much about the intricate hoops and land mines one must navigate to bed said Americunt in order to retain sanity in the brave new world that has become Murica. Really though, I do love America, but its a battlefield out there folks.

10-15 years ago I considered guys with game to all be "douches/douchebags". As in, "Why is she with that douche?" Mostly I didn't like their look. Early on, you could tell who was gaming hard by what they wore. I despised guys who just put on whatever it was that girls liked. I thought girls that went after bad boys had a mental disease.

Back then douchebag was a word girls and a lot of guys didn't know. Now everyone knows it. It's been appropriated and ruined. Originally, douchebag was a term for women like lizards/skanks. The only way I still like to use it is in initial form. As in, "These hipsters are just a bunch of D.B's."

Douche used to mean weakling pussy or asshole- douchebag. At least in the 1980s.

Now it means Jersey Shore type guys or guys that go to Sports bars etc. Muscle-foucussed guys who aren't artsy or hipster or rockstar-vibe.

Good looking loser is a good example of a player douche, which he admits.

Where as someone like Russel Brand is more rock and roll hipster.

There's different variations of douche. A douche-bag is your stereotypical fist-pumping Jersey Shore kinda guy. A douche-bag may be cool in his own circle but not cool in mainstream society. A douche is just someone similar to a creeper. A guy that's not cool anywhere.

Certified douchebag here.

Good examples, but I find douchebag falls under creepy. An over used word that can mean whatever inflection that speaker wants to believe.

Although I have been called a douchebag by a lot of different people. I guess I should look in the mirror and get the definition of what it is.

Either way, don't let it bother you. I just shrug it off and say, "YOLO" . It infuriates the person who called me the insult.

I get called this a lot.

No worries.

I've long suspected that the term "douche-bag" had a sort of Freudian quality to it. Guys who are "douches" tend to sleep with a lot of girls. When a guy gets called a "douche-bag" by a girl it's a pretty good indicator that they'll have sex.

Douches end up in vaginas. "Douche-bags" do too.

I'm okay with being called a douchebag, because I leave every vagina I'm in cleaner than I found it.

Douche(bag) is another one of those catch-all phrases that bitches resort to. I tweeted about it a few days ago:

Douche is the US is interchangeable with 'jerk' or 'asshole'.

It's not a compliment. If a girl calls you a douche, it means she recognizes your confidence, but your calibration was off. ie. you went a little too far with something you said/did.

Girls will call other suitors a douche who macked on them confidently, yet unsuccessfully.

A girl who calls you a douche to your face, you are pretty much done. More often they use it as a shit test, "that was kind of a douchey thing to say", you're not a douche, are you?"

The correct answer is to reframe, and try again. "you're allowed to ask questions like that after we figure out this drink situation...you know (bartenders name) right?"

Eh. I've hooked up with girls after they called me a douche. Half the time it means they like you.

The first time it happened I was sitting in a bar next to two 'friends'. They clearly had issues with each other so I opened them and immediately was super friendly and playful with one and totally condescending and dismissive of the other. Worked like a charm. Girl A loved that I was giving her attention and dismissing her friend. Girl B couldn't stand that she was losing and kept on doing things to get my attention/approval. Girl A bounces at some point so it's just me and Girl B. She gives me a piece of her mind, tells me I'm a douche, etc. etc. Then a moment later she kisses me and invites herself back to my place.

I get that MRA guys want to play the language game the same way feminists do and point out how demeaning words like 'creepy' and 'douchey' are. As someone who just wants to get laid though I simply don't care. Getting an emotional response out of a girl is 90% of getting the bang so just hold your frame and go with it.

There are certain words that once they become part of the lexicon they seem to stick. Douche or douche-bag is one of them. You're basically calling someone a jerk, which can be prompted by any number of behaviors someone considers objectionable.

When I hear British girls use this phrase, I want to punch then. Granted, it's only a particular upper-middle/lower-upper class that use it.

the term is really used to describe anyone who is unique. Hipsters, bros, guidos, preppies, etc have all been called "douches" for confidently expressing themselves

They're running out of good insults to use, now that the good ones are overused and irrelevant.

That they're busy making up new insults speaks volumes on how little good they actually do and how little oppression they actually face and "fight".

"douche" is pretty lame but I think a lot of guys use the word "douchebag" (d-bag) to describe a real asshole who guys and girls don't like. Means the same thing as "tool" or "jerk off" I'd say. I don't think I've ever used the smaller version 'douche' and to say "douchebag" he's gotta be a real asshole.

Another word I think internet Feminists/idiots use a lot is 'asshat' (right?) I personally never use that word.
