I have been to several of these in Rio (Salgueiro http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GRES_Acad%C..._Salgueiro and Manguira http://www.mangueira.com.br/mangueira/) and the scene is truly amazing!

I was totally moved when I witnessed little kids out of the womb moving effortlesly to samba and they have some stunners in their dancing all night...Those are great places to game at as well. The one Fly brother went to is outside of Sao Paulo and is called Vai Vai I will be going with him to the practice on December 19th and looking forward to it.

A few weekends ago we scoped the Black Brasilian Conscious Day in Sao Paulo and that was pretty cool as well.

I went there before. It's so good to the spirit. You feel the drums through your body. Besides it is in the middle of the street, the stars saying hello... (missing that, I will go back as sooner as possible).
No, an American Chick would try to do it ( I witnessed that) but effortless. Every girl in a Samba School Rehearsal feels like the Drum Queen or the Godmother Queen (the most important women in the Samba School)
