Certain type of beta most "likeable"?

I've noticed a certain type of beta is by far the most "liked" personality. Not really the introverted beta. An outgoing beta type.

Very non-confrontational, happy-go-lucky personality type, never one to offend, and just gets along with everyone. I've met very few alphas with this personality, although I can think of a few.

Thinking back to high school and college, these guys always had the most friends. Even at work, they just got along with everyone and were considered a "joy to be around" by basically everyone.

Most alphas have a personality that is bound to clash with someone. I've noticed a lot of white collar yuppie types are somewhat close to this personality, although some may skew more alpha, majority do not.

What makes this personality?

Sounds like me, although i don't consider myself "beta" per se. I find myself to be apart of the 90th percentile of awake dudes.

You're describing a feminine personality. Not effemininate, just someone who mastered all of the female mannerisms to be able to charm and disarm women.

For me though, i have a friendly "all american"personality (girl's words not mine) that i wear with an always present friendly smile. I look open and friendly because i have the body language to accompany it. Women, especially the ones i work with, find me charming as hell. Read, i come off as non threatening, intense, and interested which seems to hit up girls attraction well. Basically high energy and happy all of the time. How do i do it? It helps i'm eccentric, work out daily, and eat a handful of vitamins to keep me going.

Things i cannot be: a bad boy. No matter how hard i try, i am the quintessence of "guy you bring home to the family" no amount of anything else will make me that.

This is it. Basically, remember the really nice fat kid or in my case the really tall skinny guy in high school that everyone ragged on?

Well, he graduated college, has a job, and is somewhat interesting. I wish I took the time to understand weight lifting then.

The beta thing can muddy the waters since we use it to mean so many things. One view is that alpha = charisma (social skills) + strength of character.

You describe someone who is charismatic and has good social skills, but may have weak character. Weakness of character leads to wanting to please everyone and be popular, rather than sticking to principles and doing what is right. This is a turn-off to women. However, strong social skills and being preselected by a enthusiastic group of friends can get them laid often with pretty hot girls.

I know quite a few of these guys.

What separates these betas is the ability to get along with basically everyone, and never really invoke anger in people, they're just that agreeable and well-received.

It's possible 'getting along with everyone' means never saying no to anyone, or never making a firm stand one way or another in their beliefs. I see a lot of people who lack their own identity, and adopt the tone and values of whatever group they're currently moving in.

Most people are self-interested, and enjoy the company of those who don't complain about being used or treated-inconsiderately.
