How broke are women these days?

I have been pondering this question for a while and something happened this week that made me want to do a post about it. I am at a bar with a coworker after work getting a drink. We notice a girl, maybe about a 7, around 25-28 years old come up to the bar and order a glass of wine, red. This is what she is wearing: 7 jeans, Chanel sunglasses, expensive low cut top, and of course, has a $900 Louis Vuitton handbag.
Bartender pours her a glass of red (probably $7 at this bar) and she pulls out her debit card out of her Louis Vuitton wallet to pay. Declined. Next, she pulls out a pink Victoria Secret store charge card to pay. Declined. Am Ex blue? Declined. Rummages through her huge handbag. No cash. Now she is obviously feeling embarrassed as me and my co-worker are looking at her and chuckling and the bartender is obviously frustrated. Thankfully for this wonderful specimen of the female gender, her fat friend shows up and pays for the glass of wine.
$1500 attire and not even $7 in her bank or in credit to pay for a glass of wine. And this is not the first time I have noticed this.
Anybody else notice this general downward trend in extremely broke women who still give off the impression that everything is fine and dandy? I suppose I should not be surprised given the growth of sites like Seeking Arrangement....but how broke are women these days really? And why are they so bad at managing their money? They are living in total financial delusion.

You'd be amazed how many girls from upper-middle class and upper class backgrounds have their expenses taken care of by daddy. Usually rent and car payments at the very least. The end result is that they never develop any discipline with their spending. The girls then get into the habit of blowing all their money on stupid shit, never put away any savings and are somehow perpetually broke. I've seen this over and over.
I think a lot of this stems from the recession. Girls being underemployed but still wanting to live their dream SATC lifestyle. A girl from a privileged background isn't going to want to move back into her parents' basement. She'll throw a shitfit or turn on the charm until daddy agrees to put her up in an apartment in a trendy neighborhood so she can go to yoga class and have brunch with her friends.

Budgeting and being financially sound is very boring for women....and most people, actually. A woman will do anything not to be bored, just like she will choose a guy that is ANYTHING but boring.
Being boring is the kiss of death.
Not surprisingly, being good at the 'boring stuff' is what really makes people successful.
It's a bit sad, yet I don't feel any sorrow for these women. And to think, American women were dealt a full deck of cards compared to many women of other countries and they still can't get their shit right.

I saw a girl at the supermarket get ratchet and yell at the clerk for not knowing how to use food stamps. She had a shitfit and paid with food stamps. Saw her in the parking lot with a brand new Cadillac Escalade.

This is what you get when the overly "beta" men reproduce and have daughters. They spoil them and cave in to them, just like their wives/ex wives. More masculine dads don't do this (at least not in my experience). They have it coming.

Personally when I add a girl to my harem sorting her routine and finances are a priority. It's a little old school to try and leave girls better than I found them I suppose, but I view is as a kind of dominance.

It's more a gentle stop eating take away, stop buying pointless shit, etc. I don't make a spreadsheet or budget for them. I tend to have many long term things going on, I know a lot of dudes here have a more slash and burn attitude.

every single one I have ever met, banged, ltr'd or married who earns upper 5 figures, 6 figures, with advanced degrees, titles, working for the best companies and what not, are a COMPLETE fucking mess financially. I noticed they usually just give their money away, literally, to family, friends, building horse barns and other hair brained ideas.

That has nothing to do with being alpha like Soup or beta. Ive seen rough, blue collar guys buy their 18 year old daughters $40,000, useless trucks. Most guys just spoil their daughters. Its hard to go from unlimited spending money to being broke, especially if you never even earned the money. Its like taking a brand new toy from a spoiled brat.

This demonstrates the biggest difference between men and women, they know someone will take care of them. I work as a technical sales person and deal with the gov't a lot, and some of the most "independent woman" types were on the phone with boyfriends, husbands, dads, etc. when the furloughs hit in order to make financial arrangements. And the men happily obliged. Men don't have that luxury, and it's also why the guys in this office I deal with visibly take their jobs more seriously and don't spend the day gossiping and searching face book. Some of these women are hardcore feminists yet their "at work" behavior couldn't more stereotypically exemplify the issues of women in the workplace (esp. the managers). The job is simply a pay check and for them to disqualify men in the dating arena(i.e. needing a man who meets or exceeds their "achievement" level).

Nothing to be surprised of. Chances are, crazy bitch had just popped the owner of the Cadillac at a street light, couple of blocks away. Uses the victim's car, too, to go get her supermarket stuff with food stamps (why walk when you just got yourself wheels?). Cool and practical bitch. Tough luck on the Escalade's owner though.

This thread ties unto tuthmosis' article, "Girls are Cheap." Girls are cheap because they can be. Some guy will pay their way.
Once I was with a forum member when a girl hit us up for the $5 valet fee. We laughed. Sure enough, they went up to another group of guys and got the $5.
Ask el mechanico how many attractive girls pay for their own car repairs.
The prettier the girl, the less responsible she has to be. There's always a bail out.
I know girls with 150K in graduate school debt who decided being a lawyer was a mistake. What'd they do? "Man up" and suffer the consequences of making a wrong decision? Work hard in a career they hate in order to pay off their debt?
Hell no.
They just marry a rich man who will pay off their debt.
Girls are the spoiled rich kids of society. They aren't responsible because they've never had to be.
How many of us would be responsible if we had rich parents who paid for everything and who would bail us out of our bad - disastrous even - decisions? Probably none of us.

I don't understand why women insist on debit cards. Use a good credit card instead. There are several that don't bill you extra if you pay on time -- and have a "bonus point" program where you can actually make money off the card. The Chase card is a good one.
When your bonus points add up to 5000, you can ask for $50 to be credited to you account. For me, this adds up to around $400 each year. I NEVER pay a fee, since I make sure to never charge more than I can pay (which you're doing with a debit card anyway).
And while $400 is not a massive amount, if I handed you $400 now, would you refuse?
This is why banks are pushing debit cards. Because people like me found a way to flip the script and make money off their credit cards. Yet they can't get rid of me: they need to keep those bonus point programs as an incentive for people they want: people who overcharge and get massive late fees that dwarf any bonus point cash.
I tried explaining this to several women. They looked at me like I was Steve Urkel and they were Laura (remember that show?). As stated above, most women don't want to know this stuff. Which is why you get situations like the example used at the start of this post.
