Just started on the road. Aside from that I've recently finished dancing under the red sun, how to get rich (the one recommended in the other thread), and a couple others related to programming (go, CSS mostly)

Keith Richards - Life
Marlon Brando - Songs my Mother Taught me
Both great, esp the Brando was a great guy with good 50's values.

Finished Dostoyevsky's gambler.
Contains some really strong social observations, very smoothly melted in the dialogue of the narrating character.

1/3 through Atlas Shrugged, which is like reading 1 regular size book.
Everyone says how "life changing" it is so I'm curious to see what happens...

''Steve Jobs'' by Walter Isaacson. Great book about one of the most successful entrepreneurs of the modern times. While Jobs was an erratic and troubled personality, he also knew how to squeeze out the best from the people who worked for him.

+1 for Shantaram.
I'm only 8 chapters in but it has completely revitalized my passion for travel and adventure. I would be lucky if the first 8 chapters of my bio were this good.
Another book that had a similar effect on me was Lost City of Z.

I've been on a bad esoteric binge. I've been fascinated by the history of the Masons and I've been getting into theosophy as well. Right now I'm reading The Secret Tradition of Freemasonry by A E Waite. Also if anyone is looking to get into the genesis of western occultism/magick (probably not) The Complete Golden Dawn by Israel Regardie is heady stuff.
This is probably anathema but Helena Blavatsky's The Secret Doctrine will really make you think.

Ian Fleming is a very underrated writer. There are parts of "From Russia With Love" that are superb, and very long stretches of "Casino Royale" that are even finer. Some of the short stories are excellent, particularly one called "Quantum of Solace".
He truly loved his character and wrote about some of the best and purest manly activities in loving detail, so I'm surprised he's not even more popular on the forum.
same old shit, sixes and sevens Shaft...
