I don't know about America, but here in Australia there is a literal plague of painted boards with white lettered inspirational sayings on them. Rubbish like "Life is not about running from the storm but learning to dance in the rain" that makes me want to vomit blood.

I figured so. Not surprising to see this drivel coming from Huffpo. Good to see it's only a translation in which case these attitudes are probably not a majority.
