How Original Another Medellin Datasheet

Thanks man, you are absolutely crushing it with the info. Another few questions-you got a Sunday night spot you'd recommend? Also you ever hit up a place called spazio44 on calle 10? They have a house night on Saturdays apparently, and the photos look really good, but I haven't heard from anyone who's been.

Definitely rolling to Fahrenheit soon, thanks again.

Fahrenheit sounds pretty awesome. Did you have trouble getting in there rolling solo or with just dudes? Were you hitting the place up early and waiting it out until the early morning rush, or rolling somewhere else beforehand? I'm with you on getting away from the Parque Lleras gringo crowd.

Most places in Medellin will let in a solo group of guys any time.

Fahrenheit will be easy to get in. The only way you could possibly be refused is if you showed up in something ridiculous like flip flops or shorts.

If you're at a popular Medellin discoteca around closing time, you may see someone handing out wristbands to people hanging around outside. Grab one for everyone as these are for free entry to Fahrenheit.

Personally I don't recommend Fahrenheit, I think it lacks atmosphere. It helps if you like electronic music (I don't) and I guess it's a matter of taste.

Thanks, I've had some guys tell me they had trouble getting in places in lleras, which didn't match up with any experiences I've had in Colombia. They were hostel dork types so actually may have showed up in cargo shorts.

Thanks for the tip on the wrist bands. I actually do electronic music, so it may be a place I'm into. But, it sounds like there's other places nearby to bounce to if it looks like a lost cause.

The most popular clubs in Medellin right now are Sixtinna and Kukaramacra in Rio Sur. However, most of the girls that go there, with few exceptions, are upper class girls with whom it's much harder to close. The bars and lounges there, are the same deal. Lleras has some nice high end and middle end options. Envy (Charlee rooftop), Woka, Carlitos, and the 10 random bars around the area are all easier to meet local women. Specially since Parque Lleras is known to be very gringo friendly. El Blue and Octava are rock bars where you'll find more alternative girls. It's probably the one place to start if you're a gringo just because of the sheer volume of venues, variety and girls. Clubs like Karma, B-Lounge and Spacio 44 may not be ghetto by US comparisons, but they all have attractive women by the loads that are keep to meet guys.

There is also Bario Colombia which is also full of clubs and bars. It's more local and a bit more intense. Definitely worth it if you speak Spanish well, like reggatone and are more aggressive. It's like club district central. I've also heard there is a swingers club there but haven't been.

Calle 33 is also full of bars and clubs. Most of the local girls there from from Laurles and Belen which are middle to middle upper. They are pretty friendly and the venues are a lot more "authentic".

Wonder if that has any relationship to Kukaramakara in Miami.

I wouldn't be surprised as the one in Miami is packed with Colombian girls.

Update:

http://www.kukaramakara.com/

Looks like they have locations in Cali, Bogota, Medellin and.....Miami.

I'm going to plan on checking out spazio next week if I get the chance, the club photos on facebook look good. Then bounce to fahrenheit later in the night if I haven't pulled. Probably check out Karma too, since I see it's noted as a good spot for Sunday nights. Are you pulling same-night out of these places?

Nice report.

I frequently travel to Medellin and it's still one of my favourite spots, although things have gotten worse in the last years in terms of douche bag foreigners ruining the atmosphere in some clubs (not to mention Parque LLeras).
I like some of the high level clubs like Sixttina or Spazzio but it is certainly more difficult to score. Medellin's upper class is a very closed circle and its hard to get in. Best is if you have some male friends who can introduce you to girls. It always works. Note: Upper class girls have generally a negative perception of foreigners/tourists. I always say that I live and work in Colombia.

Not sure about the hype on Fahrenheit: It used to be good back in the days, when there were more "normal" than "working" girls. Obviously, lot's of eye candy after 3am....but if you're not into pros, you better avoid. it was much better 2 years ago when I regularly managed to bring back (normal) girls to my apartment for a "night cap".

Once in a while I like to go to places like Dulce Jesus Mio (in Las Palmas) or Bendito seas (in LLeras). More laid back, no high class chicks...but you will always find some gems and it's much easier to score.

Lately, I also use Facebook to make contact...I chat up friends of friends...open with some lame questions about medellin bla bla bla...and then ask if they maybe would like to go out when I'm there. So far, results are not bad...but I wouldn't waste too much time. I only do this if I think the girl is really hot.
