Copenhagen, Denmark - nightlife recommendations

Roosh's "Dont Bang Denmark" was hilarious to read as a Dane, but a bit too harsh and didn't have quite enough practical recommendations as where to go to maximize your bang opportunitues. For that reason I've given some recommendations on where to go in mainly inner city Copenhagen and university areas.

I have only written about bars, since nightclubs is not my scene in Denmark, mostly because I don't find the odds very good, there can be long lines to get in and where to go changes rapidly with which new clubs open and closes. Bars are the best place to pick up in Denmark and the logistics and venue vibe are geared for men and running game.

The recommendations below are not at all a full representative of bars in Copenhagen as there are way too many to mention. They are however some of the more surefire places to get a notch, allthough I have not listed them based on attractiveness of women, but more towards ease.

Inner city bars:

Heidis Bier Bar
Website:http://kbh.heidisbierbar.dk/
Adress: Vestergade 18, just near Rådhuspladsen
Age: 20-35
M/F ratio: 50-50 to 60-40

At any given Friday/Saturday, this is probably going to be your best bet for a same night lay. This place is well known for being THE bar to go to hook up for a night for both men and women. It's a German bier bar kind of place, with a very east going, no pretentious attitude which keeps posers and hipsters away. Dance floor on second floor, bar on both floors with a smoking area outside. The crowd is a mix of late night locals, students and a significant portion of tourists (mostly danish, but also swedes/norwegians and others) as well as a good crowd of girls from the suburbs and cities further out. Don't expect too many art students, hipsters or snooty academics here, they get scared away by the deliberate low-culture and that is a very good thing. I probably have like a 30% lay to visit ratio here all time and that is quite honestly low and mostly due to me having nights were I simply wasn't in the partying mood. With the right game, I would think you could quite possibly do 50-75% lay ratio or even higher. As for game, I found that just making approaches, being positive/friendly and using standard cocky/funny game to work well, then try to isolate, makeout a bit of security/comfort building and then bounce. The girls are there to get laid.

The bar right next to it is also a pickup joint and can be recommended if there is a long line outside Heidis.

L.A. Tequila Bar
Website:http://www.latequilabar.dk/
Adress: Gammel Mønt 17
Age: 17-25
M/F ratio: 50-50 to 80-20

Another classic and mainstay in the Copenhagen nightlife, I have to admit LA Bar can be hit and miss and I am getting a bit too old. This bar can be great and it can be a total sausage fest. It is for the younger crowd due to generous price of tequila shots. It is a small bar in two floors and can get very crowded. Still it is not a bad place to checkout, particularly if you're younger and have some decent game as you will most likely find some good prospects here.

Thursdays at least used to be International Student night which I very much recommend, because there will be less people and exchange students are always looking to hookup (with a local mostly, but hookup anyway).

Francis Pony

Website:http://www.francispony.dk/
Adress:Klosterstræde 23
Age:17-25
M/F ratio: 50-50

A bar that is very popular with seniors in high school as well as younger students. A LOT of attractive young girls here. I've only been twice though. The main challenge here is overcoming the cliquish nature of the crowds. Particularly the studens and very much the high schoolers tend to stick exclusively to their own. It is also a young crowd and you might feel out of place if you are 30 or above. I'd recommend it as an early visit because you can then work your game, maybe get a number or move for a bounce with some girls to a better local. Talent level here is high though.

The Dubliners
Website:http://www.thedubliner.dk/
Adress: Amagertorv 5 (Strøget near Storkespringvandet fountain)
Age: 25-45
M/F ratio: 50-50 to 70-40

Here we are at one of the typical tourist bars in Copenhagen located at Amagertorv on Strøget (the main walking street). It is an irish bar, so no explanation needed. Along with Heidis Bier Bar, this is one of the easiest places to get a notch, however the quality is far lower as it is mostly popular with the older crowd and tourists. But it is popular with tourists and some newer expats so the possibility of finding a horny american, norwegian, swedish, eastern european girl is pretty good. Beers are quite expensive. You will quickly notice which girls are looking for action, look for groups of girls (probably tourists) or pair of two's - probably danish girls looking for action. As said, older women, milfs, cougars and the like, don't expect much on average, but it is worth a visit around 12-1 am to check if there is the opportunity for an easy lay.

Sjus Bar
Website:http://www.sjusbar.dk/
AdressTongueilestræde 44
Age:20-30
M/F ratio: 50-50 to 60-40

Another cheap place and therefore popular with students. The layout of the place with benches and tables make it slightly bad logistically and more so if you're out alone. Hang out in the bar and drink on the cheap. Usually some potential with the student girls here allthough can be very hit and miss.

The entirity of Nyhavn (New Harbor)
Adress: New Harbor close to Kongens Nytorv Metro station
Age: 18-80
M/F ratio: 50-50

New Harbor is a popular tourist spot with picturesque old houses and boats. It is on the typical tourist trail and also popular with locals in the summer (only in the summer). So if the sun is shining in the summer, head here to enjoy the crowds and drink a beer by the canal, no need to buy an overpriced one from the restaurants and bars. It is very popular as an after work get together for the locals and students. A good place to warm up and have a chat and there are tourists here to pickup, allthough mostly an older crowd.

Natcafeen
Website:http://www.natcafeen.dk/
Adress:Gothersgade 13
Age: 25-45
M/F ratio: Bad

Not recommended, but thought it should be mentioned. This is a 'last chance' kind of bar with fat and/or older women and the occasional hottie. This is the place you go at 5 am if you haven't scored. I don't recommend the place, it is pathetic mostly, but it is a place to get a score if all else fails late at night and you don't want to admit defeat.

Australian Bar (A-Bar)

Website:http://abar.dk/
Adress:Vestergade 10
Age: 16-23
M/F ratio: 50-50 to 40-60

For the young only. Trust me, if you're anything over 25 you will look very much out of place, so this recommendation is mainly for early twenties to mid 20s who look young. This is a very popular place for young girls around 17-19. Lots of high schools hold closed parties here which open up for all later on. The area itself is a bit dodgy because the nextdoor place is popular with arabs and middle eastern immigrants. I am not being racist, but if you want a safety advice, stay away from brown/arab looking people in the nightlife. Ignore at your peril.

Nørrebro Bars

Not my scene, hipsters and students, so won't say much about the bars in Nørrebro. There's a bunch of them around Sankt Hans Torv (google it) and on Fælledvej and they're too pretentious and hipster like for my taste, but the bar Barcelona is ok and has a good number of attractive girls. There's a bar next to it which name I forgot which is popular with hipsters and hipster wannabe chicks, so if that is your thing then go for it. There are also quite a lot of students in this area and cheaper prices.

Vesterbro Bars

Vesterbro is also not my kind of place. The bars here range between total dives and hipster bars with really snooty pretentious people. There is a clubbing are called Kødbyen with some decent venues playing house, lounge and the like. Not a bad place and I don't mind it, but it is really more for a certain subset of the Copenhagen crowd in advertising and other money making fields and those who like to pretend they belong with them. Vesterbro is my least favorite and least recommended for a visitor.

Cocktail Bars:

Cocktail bars are expensive but popular and can be very enjoyable both due to a more refined crowd (less drunk assholes), a much better atmosphere and better music and of course generally a higher level of girls.

The Jane
Website:http://thejane.dk/
Adress: Gråbrødre Torv 8
Age: 20-40
M/F ratio: 50-50

Close to Francis Pony, this is a Mad Men inspired wooden paneled cocktail bar attracting a diverse crowd, but more 'classy' and plenty of attractive women. Expensive though but a nice athmosphere and design.

Bar Syv
Website:http://www.barsyv.com/
Adress:Studiestræde 7
Age: 20-40
M/F ratio: 50-50

Slightly pretentious as all cocktail lounges, but that kind of 'look at me, I am not looking at you' attracts certain attractive women. Decorated as someones stylish home, this is one of the more unique bars. Expensive. It is close to Heidis, A-bar, so drop in and get a whisky, then bounce if you don't see anything interesting.

University Parties and Friday Bars

By far my preferred nightlige venue are the university bars and parties. I can't link you to their websites, cause they don't have any (to avoid non-students going there.

There are two main university campus: KUA(map in link) and Faculty of Social Sciences (map in link).

KUA is just by Islands Brygge Metro Station and Faculty of Social Sciences is by Nørreport Station in Øster Farimagsgade.

I advice you to go to either on a Friday during semester around 10 pm and check to see if you can get in and if there is a party. KUA usually requires a ticket, but you can ask some people if they have one in surplus, they usually won't mind giving you one if you are polite and friendly. Faculty of Social Sciences I think has free entrance before 23 in the evening at least if you go with a friend who is a student. Again, go there early and ask some people, it is usually possible to get in.

Both unis have a lot of partiers with lots of attractive young girls and plenty of cheap beer. Thursdays at the social sciences faculty is for studens of the 'psychology' classes, so very favorable male to female ratios.

I recommend KUA though because there's a lot of language and arts studens of which many are girls and are quite friendly and the guys studying there are not very manly (a generalization of course).

Copenhagen, Denmark - nightlife recommendations

Logistics

Copenhagen can be a prohibitively expensive city to live in to the point that when I visited Tokyo I found it to be good value for money. However, do not let this prevent you from having a good time. Copenhagen can still be good value and good fun, particularly with regards to nightlife and drinking (if that is your thing). Let me try to give some advice on managing logistics for both monetary value and gaming value.

Transport

There is a reason you see so many bicycles in Copenhagen. Many danes would have you believe this is because everyone cares about the enviroment, but one look at Copenhagen and the trash found everywhere after a weekend night will negate this. It is simply because cars and motorcycles are taxed at close to 200%. Taxis are therefore very expensive (also because of collusion) and not really an option unless for getting home to a quick night bang.

Bus, Train and Metro

Copenhagen is bound together by a network of trains (S-Tog), buses and the Metro. The latter, Metro, is very modern, fast and one piece of infrastructure that Copenhagen has done well. Buses run frequently and it is a good idea to learn the routes of 'S' buses and 'A' buses which run frequently. 'S' buses are for longer routes with fewer stops, while 'A' buses run every 5 minutes and stop often. The Metro only stops at two lines going from Fredriksberg to Amager and the Airport. The S-train mainly runs north and south and stops close to most nightlife venues. The only part of Copenhagen not yet connected by the Metro and train is Nørrebro which you will need to take the 5A bus to reach.

Important!
Do not get the paper 'Klippekort' with a fixed number of trips. It will ruin you. Instead get some kind of time based card like a 24 hour card, weekend card or monthly pass. A monthly pass may cost something like 400 kr (about $80) for Copenhagen, but will still be cheaper than buying cards with a fixed number of cards.

Taxis

Taxis are very expensive but nice. All taxis are Mercedes E class so basically what qualifies as Limo service in other places. They will quickly set you back a hundred to two hundred kroner to go across town.

Cycling

Cycling is free once you have a bike and if you're staying for a while, you may as well get one. There are safe cycling lanes everywhere and everyone else rides one. You can rent one several places just google for it.

Hotels

The single biggest expense is going to be hotels. There are not really many options below 500 kr pr. night (about $90). At the lower end are the CabInn hotels around 400-500 kr and I quite like them. There are two cheap hotels in Vesterbro on Istedgade - right in the middle of the whore area and drug area. There is Hotel Nebo which I think is some sort of christian hotel, guests not allowed, but cheap at around 400 kr. The hotel opposite, I unfortunately forgot the name is about the same price but doesn't have a good rep. Last there is Wakeup Copenhagen quite close to the main central station and definitely the best value for money at 500 kr as it is a new and nicely designed and furnished hotel which feels more expensive.

If you can do with a hostel, Generator Hostel opened some year ago in a very good location, but of course being a hostel means sharing room with others. The hostel itself though may lead to opportunities as there are many others looking to part.

Lastly, I would recommend Airbnb.com as being clearly the best for both finding a room (or entire apartment) while giving you both freedom and a good cover to let the girls now you're not just a tourist passing through. Rooms available at quite cheap price while a full apartment will be more expensive and at the same level as a hotel.

Bouncing

Getting from the bar to your place is probably not much different than you're used to. It really depends on the girl and how horny she is. Some danish girls will at this point be very straight forward and maybe even ask you if you want to come to her place. Those that won't, you can run whatever gambit you're used to, late night drinks (wine being a good choice) is a safe bet. If your girl is on a bike, that complicates things a bit, but not too much. Anyway, if you go to the bars I mention, the risk of her having a bike go down, allthough uni girls will many times have a bike. If you have one, then that helps things along as you can both leisurely stroll along talking about how great it is that danes are so ecofriendly and taxed (don't mention the last). I usually splurge on a taxi if I feel the girl is down to fuck, simply because I absolutely hate walking through Copenhagen late at nigth with so many drunk and loitering and sometimes agressive retards.

Safety

Some of you might not like the following, but this is real world advice. Danes are mostly mellow people who prefer not to get into real physical confrontation. While they may sometimes seem quite in your face and overstepping boundaries, this is more because of lack of manners when drunk than a desire to start shit. A typical dane poses very little threath for violence. One distinct exception are danes from the part of Amager and the poorer western suburbs. They're recognizable by their usually short hair (buzz cut) and different kinds of sweatshirts/hoodies. Silver chains are another dead giveaway. These people can be quite dangerous. While some might think this is funny because they probably relate it to gangs in their home, do not think that there isn't quite a lot of people being stomped and beaten senseless every weekend. Avoid them.

For that reason, I should add that the part of Strøget close to Rådhuspladsen is a place to avoid later at night. I strongly recommend you to spend as little time there as possible late at night.

Certain parts of Nørrebro is also dangerous because of the criminal gangs there, but you're unlikely to end up there unless you wander off.

The only people to actively avoid in the nightlife are arabs and middle eastern looking people. Now, while some of you find this offensive, it is simply the truth. There is a very large overrepresentation of violent crime committed by these people and a big majority of stabbings, robbings and serious beatings are committed by them. Avoid groups of them while alone at all costs..

Interesting data thanks. Been in Copenhagen a few weeks. I really like it especially the area around Nørrebro. I also think the meatpacking district has the best venues for nightlife. GOod looking women - very approachable if they don't approach you first. THe centre is very commercial and business orientated. Pretty bland in my opinion but good for daygame.
It is my first time in Scandinavia and am pleasantly surprised by the friendly nature of the women and the overall quality. I would say 1 in 10 girls are an 8 and above. THe best way to describe Denmark is lots of 3's and lot's of 8's and nothing in-between. I wish I was staying longer but have business to attend to else where. I hope to get to Sweden as a warm up before St Pete next month.

Cool to hear you are enjoying it. Of course, we are all going to have different tastes. I mentioned some bars that I know from experience have the most potential for an easy lay.

I too like the Meatpacking district (Kødbyen), but don't share your like for Nørrebro, though I can understand why some people like to go there.

The centre is really many things. Most tourists do not make it into the side roads and therefore miss most good bars.

You should try to make it too one of the university parties now that school is in.

I think copenhagen is underrated, I think quality is noticeable better than sweden (stockholm and gothenburg at least), will go for a little longer next time to give a decent report.
From my few time in those countries I'd rank number Denmark #1 in scandinavia as far as quality goes and sweden a distant #3, Norway would be a close second..

I think Stockholm has the more 8s and 9s. Some of the girls are Stureplan in Stockholm could just as easily be walking around in London, New York or LA. They also dress better and are overall friendlier. It is easier to get laid in Copenhagen though in my experience. Copenhagen is actually one of the easiest places for me that I've been to, but that is probably also down to local knowledge and language. The thing I like about Stockholm though is that there is also a large foreign group of girls from places like eastern africa and iran who are westernized. Those two groups in Denmark are for some reason under much more social control and you almost never see them out in the nightlife in Copenhagen.

Maybe more fashionable? And more makeup and overdo? but I'm talking about natural beauty, A lot of swedish women are racially similar to finnish women (more likely to be short legged, naturally fatter, and too round faced), who on average are definitely the least physically attractive of the nordic countries (not saying there are not nice looking finnish girls but based strictly on averages) . Take away clothes, make up, attitudes, fashion Im sure Danish women have more natural beauty..

I'd put it that order (from higher to amount of pretty girls)..Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Finland . I've met groups of danish students that It seemed like the village of the damned, every single girl blonde and very pretty, slender and good facial features, long and refined. Some Norwegians and much more often Swedish seem to suffer more of the ugly stick touch, many have weird looking features, too wide/round/short faces, and tendences to not be so slender and gain fat easier (probably due to sami/uralic admixture) which often gives a pseudo asian looks. The latter seem to be even more prevalent among the finnish. Shorter legs seem to be noticeably commoner features among norwegian/swedish than among danish women too. Maybe Its me that I like the model and athletic type of body and features in women.

Hi,

I noticed that there wasn't any recent info on Copenhagen. Has anyone been recently?

Any bars or clubs to visit. I've been reading and the Hive and Penhouse seem decent.

I'll post my findings once I am back from this trip.

Thanks

I went last year. So I guess that's recent enough.

I went during st pats day. So some of the bars near the center were I think better then normal maybe. (Indre by on Google maps.) Don't know the name of the hood.

Try another spot called jolene bar I think. There were a few places around that area.

I will say two things about my time in Copenhagen:

1.) I have never seen more women over an eight in my life.

2.) I have never seen more know it all, feminist cunts in my life.

Find me one place on planet earth, where you can go to a bar on a wednesday, meet five women over an eight, then have said women proceed to lecture you about your 'right wing' [At the time] Prime Minister from a country in a completely different hemisphere.

In this city, I have found that it can be both the hardest, and easiest nation of planet earth to get pussy. On the one hand, if you remain humble, and 'nod along' to their left wing nonsense, they will invariably initiate sex. If however, you decide to challenge their bullshit, well you're on a fast track to having them get stubborn and leave the conversation.

Personally, in terms of where to go. I much prefer day game to night game here. There are numerous attractive women in cafes and bakeries. If you strike up a friendly conversation, and almost in a bland, non sexual manner, invite them for a drink after work, you will rarely get knocked back. From there your game strategy is as above. They appear to have some severe tall poppy syndrome there, so a cocky persona will do you more harm than good most of the time.

Copenhagen, Denmark - nightlife recommendations

Since im danish and living in Copenhagen, i'll post a mini-guide on where to go when you're about:

Clubs:

Hive:
If you're really into clubbing this is the place. I think it's the biggest club in Copenhagen (talking square-meter wise).
The music they play here is usually house and so on. The crowd is very highend, the entrance alone is 130 DKK/18€ and a vodka/redbull will set you back 85 DKK, which is 12€. Bottle service is around 900-1000 DKK. Crowd on Friday and saturday is 20-35 i'd say.
On thursday the club is called Enzo and filled with 18+. It's a 100 DKK Entrance and free bar.
If you got good game/looks, ONS are doable.
https://www.facebook.com/hivecph/?fref=ts

Sunday:
Also very highend, same prices like mentioned at Hive. Cheaper thursday prices, although more expensive than Hive.
Door policy is extremely strict, and unless you're wearing your nice outfit, and got good looks, you will get rejected.
Crowd in here is 20-35 i guess, and in general good looking.
https://www.facebook.com/sundaycph/?fref=ts

Penthouse:
Im bringing this one in because someone mentioned it. Personally i don't like it. It's a bad crowd, although i think prices are decent in there. If you like EDM this is the place to go, however you will have to take a cut into the standards of the girls, because only 1 in 100 will be bangable. The rest will be fat, pale, bad dressed, or just look like pigs.
https://www.facebook.com/penthouse.nu/?fref=ts

Bars:

Heidis Bier Bar:
Pretty much as the OP said. It's located pretty central, and has decent/cheap prices which is why it's attracting people i guess. The music is meh, not my taste, but typical bar music.

Guldhornene:
Located right next to Heidis Bier Bar, not alot differs the two venues. Almost the same crowd, same music, same layout.
https://www.facebook.com/GuldhorneneKBH/?fref=ts

Butchers:
Next one down the street is Butchers. This place is really nice, and usually it has a lot of very nice girls in there. Drinks are almost, if not the same, as in the high end clubs, but half price before 23:30 so get there early. Music is nice, a mix between house and rnb. Good game and good looks will secure your ONS here. Crowd is 20-30.
https://www.facebook.com/Butcherscph/?fref=ts

The Drunken Flamingo:
Despite the funky name i like this place. The party is outside at the back of the club, where the DJ is at and one of the bars. The place can be totally ablaze or a big fiasko. Crowd is very mixed, 18-35.
https://www.facebook.com/thedrunkenflamingo/?fref=ts

Billy Booze:
This place is filled with young people. Cheap prices, cheap interior, cheap girls. You don't go here looking for a princess, or for the girl of your dreams. You go here because it's 3:30, you haven't found anything decent, and your alcohol consumption during the night has made your boner is so hard that you're cracking skulls with it. https://www.facebook.com/billy.booze/?fref=ts

Hornsleth Bar:
Usually a good bar. Has decent crowd, and is usually packed. Half price before 24. Music is good.
https://www.facebook.com/Hornslethbarcph/?fref=ts

Cocktail bars:

Bar 7:
Very nice place, great crowd, great cocktails, decent music. Can be PACKED.

Madam Chu:
Another great cocktail bar. Good cocktails, although not as fancy as Bar7. Plays more oldschool hits.

Me being danish aswell - I can definatly vouch for the recommendations Bailando is giving.
In general, if you keep close to Gothersgade in Copenhagen, you will almost always have a party with the ton of bars there. (But it is also where most foreigner go) - you can find some cool places around Indre By (inner city) if you just look around.
A few of my favorites is Butchers, LA Tequila Bar (the bar itself sucks - but you a gauranteed a fucked up party [Image: biggrin.gif] ), and Hornsleth.

Copenhagen, Denmark - nightlife recommendations

So I hit Copenhagen a few weeks back. My thoughts - as a city its nice. Pretty chilled culture and not as chaotic as England. As expected, prices were high - cheapest pint was almost £5 or 7ish euros.

Nightlife
With cycling so prevalent here, most of the girls are in good shape. Plenty of tall hot blondes in the evening. However getting a ONS is tough, I think the Danish are 'wary' of foreigners. Girls seemed to go out in large-ish groups, and were often in groups mixed with guys.

Hive - supposed to be an exclusive club. Very strict door policy. Did not get in on a Friday or Saturday despite dressed well and willing to buy table. Judging by the queue, some hot girls here.

There is a whole road full of bars, where Butchers is. Probably one of the best areas at night as almost every bar was full. Plenty of blondes, however trying to build any long lived rapport was very tough.

The Jane - a cocktail bar with a small dancefloor. However this was by far the best place we hit. Probably an even about of girls to guys ratio before 1am. Plenty of seating areas, to isolate. Good luck with ONS though - from the girls I chatted too, did not get very far (despite being 190cm and in decent shape!)

Overall - I was only here for 3 nights, and enjoyed Copenhagen for what it was. Would I return, probably not.

Great intel. Has been much helpful. Heidi's bier bar is great: recommended. Check out also Cucaracha bar: full of cool students that will accept you and party with you. Check out also the Bodegas (bars where smoking is allowed) if you smoke, great places everywhere on fri and sat, you cannot go wrong. Just a matter of taste and age range. Choose the city center or the meatpacking district and ask to people you have a good vibe from.

I love Copenhagen and I recommend it warmly. The people here are friendly, down-to-Earth, quite liberal. That's my experience so far.

Any updates here?
Does the city completely die in August?

I'd recommend Copenhagen. Why would it completely die in August? That's the summer time. I was there last month and it was buzzing. Girls are hot.

Well the collective logic from reading this forum is to avoid many non beach destination Euro cities in summer because there are no University classes and the local student population is gone. Supposedly there is a mass exodus of young locals to southern vacation spots like coastal Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy and some even leave Europe completely. etc. And lastly there is a mass influx of foreign tourists during that time which obviously decreases any foreign value and cranks up the general thirstiness vibe.

Good to know that none of this applies in Copenhagen. So the local 18-25 Danes stick around the city throughout the summer?

I think the logic in an Eastern European setting is they go back to their villages. Places like Poland, Ukraine, Romania are much more agrarian than Denmark.

Copenhagen has 2m people and total population of Denmark is around 5.5m. Copenhageners do visit the coast but the majority of them live in the city and so does the family. It’s also the best time of year by the river where you can swim in it and the girls are chilling out in bikinis drinking supermarket craft beers with wine and sangrias available at nearby bars

If you go I’d recommend Island Brygges
