University of Southern California

I wanted to get some feedback on the University of Southern California as there is a strong possibility I would be accepted there for my masters (and I know there is a lot of LA heads here).

What is it like in terms of the scene, the vibe, parties, and of course the girls! I know a bit about their football team (thanks to Bush and Matt Lienart during the 2000's) and read a lot of literature about the place.

I partied there a couple times because my good friend from college had a friend who went there and would throw sick parties. He lived in this apartment complex nicknamed the "bean" I think its called the Caribbean. There are a stupid amount of attractive girls that go to USC. And I saw a ton of girls when I went there a couple times for parties. It's located close to downtown and South Central so it isn't in the best location in LA. If you have the money then I would definitely go there since it is a good party school and has an abundant amount of girls.

Thanks for the replies guys!

I am just weighing my options, nothing is for sure until I get the acceptance letters. USC is my back up if I don't get into University of Florida. It is a great school though but I know that I'd be partying with the rich kids of LA (which I am far from). I am not sure how game would go given that I am not rich in a rich kids school.

I went there during the glory years (2002-2005), when there were a shitload of parties, and they still let in alone of dumb people and rich kids and others (the partying was better w/ them compared to nerdy smart yuppie kids aka ucla). In late 2004, they started to shut down the frat row a lot. It was a shell of itself by the time I left. Even if u didnt go inside the parties, you could just hollar at so many honies on the street.

They got real serious about improving the school, and its alot harder to get in now than when I went. I heard that the level of hottie has gone down as a result. The row is not poppin and the football team basically sucks in terms of USC standards.

Plus the school is in the hood. THere isn't much around there from ages 18-20. Restaraunt scene is weak as hell.

Its still a good school and a great way to make connections. Our alum really run thangs down in l.a.

But in terms of "fun", there are way better schools (NOT ucla unless you wanna kick it in a totally segregated school).

See Arizona State, Madison, San Diego State, Michigan State, Texas, etc...

Awesome information, thanks for sharing.

I am also applying to University of Wisconsin Madison and the University of Florida. I am in confident I will get into all my schools and with your information about USC I think UF is my clear front runner (cheap state tuition, been in the top ten party schools in the country for the past five years, my favorite football team, SEC school.). Madison is up there in the party scale as well and I may consider that over USC although if I get a full ride with the Trojans (and not get into UF) I may hit up LA since I am now starting to appreciate Southern California more so then any other region in the nation. A detour in Wisconsin Madison may be interesting though since I never been to that part of the country.

I just can't wait to get this application process over with. [Image: undecided.gif]
