So I am an American, recent Uni grad, currently living in Europe teaching ESL. I like Europe but its a little too tame for my tastes. As my username indicates, I am aching to go to Russia. I speak fluent Russian and have been enamored with the country, history, literature, etc since I was a little boy.
The obvious route to Russia is to continue ESL teaching which I don't mind doing but I have far greater ambitions in the long run. Do you think its possible to shift into a more lucrative career given some serious networking? Entrepreneurial options? I know Russia is corrupt as hell but given all the petrol dollars floating around, there has to be opportunities for a bright ambitious westerner.
Any Russia-based members have some 1st/2nd hand stories to tell? Hell, if anyone has pulled this off in any country I am interested!
