‘It is a terrible situation she is in,’ said Gisle Meling, the priest at the Norwegian Sailor’s Church.
‘We are very surprised and had hoped it would go another way, but we live in a country which has a justice system which draws its conclusions with the help of Sharia law.’
Ms Dalelv was sentenced to one year and four months in jail but as Norway has no extradition treaty with Dubai, her future is uncertain.

Yeah we'll you can't expect to go to a conservative Muslim country like Dubai and expect them to bend to your way of life. I'm not condoning her being raped obviously. Dubai, as much as it wants to pretend otherwise, is a third world country in first world packaging. They have these weird laws based on a backwards religion, like the case of the Norwegian chick above who was raped yet charged with adultery, yet import Russian prostitutes by the thousands to be the playthings of the locals.

Several friends of mine used to work there and according to them, it's a good place to live for 2 to 3 years, make your money and then get out, provided you are a Westerner.

It's not just women either, who are raped and then charged with crimes.

A famous case in 2007 involved a 15 year old French boy who was taken to the desert under false pretenses and raped by 3 local men. When he went to the authorities they refused to classify it as rape and instead were about to charge him for homosexual activity. The same authorities kept denying the rapists were HIV positive (even though they knew otherwise). His parents raised enough hell that it got the leaders of France and the UAE involved and some semblance of justice was finally meted out.

Western feminists have run out of fights in the West, choosing trivial things like "Slut Walk to expend their energy on, yet shy away from confronting the Islamists due to "cultural sensitivity" or other bullshit reasons, which is ridiculous.

Yet many in Western societies are expected to bend over backwards to accommodate them. I have been to Muslim countries and I have been more than wiling to accept the customs and laws there, eat halal food, observe Ramadan, no alcohol etc. even though I'm a baptised Catholic.

I have nothing against Islam or any religion as long as it does not interfere in our every day daily lives. I spent enough of my formative childhood years in the 1980s living in a bland and repressive theocratic state. Though looking back it wasn't all that bad (if you were prepared to overlook the obvious Catholic Church hypocrisy). We even got a rather twee Protestant clergyman to wish us all good night and a rather genial Chief Rabbi telling us all on a Sunday evening prime time telly slot to live our lives as good human beings and show respect for your common man. Looking back, at least we did try to accommodate the other 10% of Irish society who were not cowered every Sunday with tails of grotesque beasts that awaited us all in the fires and brimestone of hell.
