Any Kindle Owners Want to Read/Review My Books?

Hi gentlemen,

On Saturday June 29th, I'm celebrating my 25th birthday by making the Kindle editions of my books free for the day. If you enjoy the books, I'd greatly appreciate it if you wrote a review on Amazon and/or your blog (if you have one). According to Amazon, the free giveaway will start at 3am EST Saturday (12m PST, 8am London time) and last until 24 hours later.

The books in question:

Confessions of an Online Hustler: A book on how to make money blogging, focused on deflating myths pushed by Tim Ferriss cultists/shysters and providing practical information. I talk about how to improve your writing skills, how to work with Wordpress, how to attract readers to your site relatively quickly (and why SEO is nearly useless for doing so), how to protect yourself from haters and people looking to expose your identity, and more. If you want to know more, I've posted links to some reviews here.

The Hitchhiking Crash Course: A brief manual on how to hitchhike, based on the cross-continental trip I took from New York to Oregon last year. Covers what to bring with you, where to go, how to protect yourself from predators, how to deal with police, and more. Again, you can find reviews of the book here.

Trolling for a Living: A compilation of the best articles and blog posts I wrote in the first year of my blog, including such heartwarming classics as "Planet of the Bitches," "How to Start a Game Blog" and "Women Are Just Slabs of Meat."

I'll be posting on my blog about the free giveaway, but I wanted to give you guys advance notice.

Got your books, Man. Plate's a bit full at the moment but will definitely give them a look when I've got a minute.

And Happy B-day!

Thanks, Matt! I feel bad for getting them for nothing, I like supporting guys on the forum. Especially stuff that's well written and entertaining. I'll definitely buy copies to give to people I know.

Happy 25th.

Damn, I decided to follow Beyond Borders and Matt Forney's examples by making one of my books free on Amazon and it went from #650,000 to #10,500 in half a day. I don't think it's ever been under #130,000.

It's not anything a forum member needs, my goal was to write something to help guys unplug with a story of your average beta trying to change his life. It's not a definitive work at all, just something designed to pull guys into the manosphere. I got the idea for it when I was considering how small our numbers are and how we might be able to grow them.

Here's the link if anyone wants to re-live their beta days or send it to someone who needs unplugging:

Happy 25th.

That's alright, if you really want to help me out, write a review of the book(s) on Amazon. I'm more concerned with building a long-term readership for my blog/books than short-term profit, so a couple free days every so often aren't going to hurt me in any significant way.

I just posted a review for Trolling For A Living. Your haters are already on it. I'll definitely review the others as I read them. Thanks again!

My birthday is also 29th of June, I just turned 27. [Image: smile.gif]

I'd be very intrigued to read the Online Hustler book, and more than happy to write a review. Sorry, I know I'm a bit late.

Sorry, I can't give out review copies to anyone who doesn't either have a blog or write for a website. That said, if I decide to use another one of my giveaway days (I get five per book for every three month KDP term), I'll announce it on Twitter.

Hi Matt,

While I would happily pay for your books anyway, unfortunately I currently don't really have time to do much more than downvote that belqis troll who's dogging you on Amazon.

But I will come round to reviewing your other works sooner or later.

Incidentally, any idea on when your book about your journey across America is going to go on sale?

I'm gunning for mid-September at the latest, probably earlier. I ran into problems a couple months ago and had to junk a large part of my first draft for being too maudlin. I'm taking my time on it to make sure it's as good as it can possibly be.

Not to be self-aggrandizing, but I've encountered a rash of trolls trying to sink my sales with phony one-star reviews. Since getting Amazon to pull fake reviews is impossible short of proving libel on the reviewer's part, I'd really appreciate it if those of you who bought/downloaded my books could post your own reviews to balance out the haters. More info here.

Because I don't want to be a hypocrite, I've started posting some of my reviews to Amazon (my profile is here), including some reviews of books by guys here. I try to be as honest as possible, so apologies in advance if my reviews are a little harsh at times.

I'd give it a go. In the boat now so can't give this the attention it deserves though.

I remember reading this on PUA Hate. They were discussing giving poor reviews to books of Roosh and other PUAs/manosphere writers (I think I read your name there too) as a tactic to lower book sales.

Trolls will increasingly try to hurt manosphere members economically.

Bumping this older thread.

Recently purchased Confessions of an Online Hustler and found it informative and entertaining. He gives some good tips in the book and has been in the game for a while. Recommended for people who want to venture into the blogging game.

I feel retarded and 2-3 years behind on the manosphere. The only sites I visit are Roosh's blog, this forum, returnofkings, and dangerandplay.

I had no idea that Matt ran the inmalefide blog from a few years back. Also it was only a few months ago that I realized MikeCF from this forum ran dangerandplay. Live and learn.
