Xs is the best during summer.

Have to disagree about 2nd tier having 4 tier women 100%.

In fact it's easier to pull from those because the girls aren't trying to be "seen".

As fat as Asians that's what they do, get in little packs to get bottle discounts. You will see the girls all wearing the same white dress. Everywhere you look. Americanized Asian girls = very annoying

In my experience, the girls that end up at 2nd Tier clubs are the ones who are a little more naive...girls from the midwest or whatever on bachelorette parties that don't go to Vegas alot and just get suckered by a promoter working on the strip offering them free drinks. Generally younger, more easily impressed, etc. At the tier 1 clubs you do get the hot SoCal/Arizona girls, but again, like Fisto says they are there to be seen or latch on to the megaballers on the dance floor tables.

anyone have any good intel on some of the more "happening" restaurants like Andrea's at Encore, etc? I've done Lavo, Tao, STK...good food and atmosphere...any new recos for some hot spots?

Is this just because you are staying at the Palms or because you have a suite there? I will be staying there for the Mayweather fight in September, so I will be curious to see what you say about it.

As for pool parties, Ditch Fridays would probably be a good idea and I understand that they also have a party on Saturday at the Palms Pool. I think logistics would be great for those pool parties if you are staying at the Palms and since multiple respected posters have said to stay away from Rehab, I think Palms would be a better bet on both Friday and Saturday. I really don't understand the posters who are saying to avoid pool parties completely. If there is a better way to spend Friday and Saturday during the day in Las Vegas, I would love to hear it.

The main problem with pool parties is that you get so wasted its hard to go out at night sometimes. They are better than nightclubs for sure though.

Power don't waste your time at Ghost bar. It's got a sick view of the city but it'll be empty more than likely. If you've got a discounted bottle there you may consider pre drinking but I wouldn't bother.

Actually, when I last went to Vegas about ten years ago I went to Ghost Bar and didnt think it was that good either.

I thought the food at Hakkasan was amazing (hated the club). It was very flavorful and spicy. Some of the dishes look like something you'd see on a Iron Chef - smaller portions with lots of complexity.

Huge bar area with some good looking people drinking cocktails before dinner.

Gordon Ramsey Steak was superb, although it really wasn't much of a scene to meet people.

trying to get into e by Jose Andres but they might be booked up (only 16 seats per night). I know XS has been promoting going to Botero before going to XS at least last few times I've been going and Andreas has a DJ and supperclub type atmosphere. For steak I want to try out SW steak for that chili rubbbed steak I saw on the food network.

I'm wondering about restaurant game in vegas...some places might be decent and easier to approach than in a club.

I'm only thinking of staying away from Hakkasan b/c they have other locations in NYC, Miami, SF, and LA pretty soon. I did like the food at Tao, which is probably a lot like I would imagine Hakkasan to be. heard its overpriced as fuck though.

The locals call it "Hakkastairs."

When you're leaving, you have to go down 2 flights of really hard as fuck concrete steps. Some girl is going to die after breaking a heel on those and falling back.

When you leave, everyone is basically confused. So you're part of a herd/stamped heading down those stairs.

It also has a very fun house feel. It's hard to know what room you are in because the area isn't arranged logically.

You just sort of walk/stumble around, not really knowing where you're going.

I've started to do some research for my Friday night between Hakkasan (Bob Sinclar) and XS (steve angello). I'd like to see both of those guys but I'd like to see Bob Sinclar a little more to be honest.

I'm leaning towards XS because:

1. Hot clubs when they first open usually have people going there just to show off instead of hook up. Its a weird seen of people with ADD looking around the club for other people they know that are there. Also, people who get in, guys and girls are usually connected or know how things work...which if you don't, then you're already at a disadvantage.

2. XS has an outdoor patio area which is pretty good for walking around.

3. Hakkasan seems to be a massive dance floor with not much room on the sides to do anything.

4. Hakkasan is dark and clubby instead of some place where you can talk to girls, move them around the clubs, etc.

that's just my observations so far. was reading yelp reviews and seems a bit weird. To me, it seems like the layout of RAIN nightclub at the Palms...which has been cool, but not sure if i'm into that.

Going to Boteros before XS or STK before Marquee is gold. You get a drink there at the bar, bullshit around with other people, later on in the night a girl you glanced at approaches you saying she saw you in the restaurant. "Oh yeah, I saw you too, you were looking hot while you held that glass so pretentiouslly, the only thing missing was your pinky finger poking out"

I think I mentioned this before but I've had the most success at what I term as "tier 1.5" places: Tryst and Tao. The latter is especially good if you're looking for Asians, and Tryst used to be at the top of the heap before XS and Marquee, and to a lesser extent Hakkasan came around. Face control is still somewhat acceptable there while prices are much more wallet friendly.

On a related note, has anyone else been to Light at Mandalay? I was somewhat underwhelmed when I first got there, but the more I think about it, that place is going to die fast.

You want to talk about XS rip off, I've had associates get their cards dinged for mid five to six figures (the smart one didn't pay.) I would never let them have my credit card, and sure as hell wouldn't give them a black AMEX.
